I've only had the boat since mid early June, so I'm still trying to find the best way too. I don't think the design is very good IMO. Here's what I do (if anyone has suggestions...let me know too):
Step one: Undo the two front inner bars from the front inner brackets. This leaves the two outer brackets/bars attached (these will remain attached).
Step Two: Fold the front of the bimini back and lay on top of the tower.
Step three: Undo the rear bars from the rear bimini tube (the arched tube with the tee fittings). I leave the two rear bars in to support the bimini.
Step four: Fold the rear of the bimini up to the front portion and wrestle the cover over it all and zip it up.
Step five: Wrap the two straps of on the bimini cover over the tower and cinch down.
Step six: Remove the two rear bars from the tower since they don't need to support the bimini any more and store under the seats.
Step seven: I then secure the ends of the bars that stick out of the cover with velcro straps so they don't flop around.
I think that's about it. Again, I'm still figuring it out, but that's easiest way I've found so far. Feel free to ask if any of that isn't clear.
By the way...great looking boat!

Just FYI, the zippered storage bag has a little velcro'd inner bag in which you can store your two rear support poles that insert into the rear edge of the tower. So, if you remember to store your poles into that BEFORE you stuff it all in and zip it up, you don't have to have your two removable support poles bouncing around in a storage compartment. And it keeps ALL your bimini parts together.
Other than those tips, just handling it enough times will make it more familiar and easier to deal with. I actually think it's a pretty nice design...except for the interference issue with the extended bimini and the top board bindings with the swivel racks.Last edited by dingleberry; 07-06-2009, 05:16 AM.

Great looking boat! I think the new tower looks best on the Z1!
we use the standard and extended bimini regularly.
I unclip the front bimini poles first;
take out the rear poles;
let the rear portion hang straight down with the weight of the long rear support;
bring the front bimini portion over and back (pivots at main connection);
place the long rear support pole on top of the front support pole (which is now behind the tower);
making sure all extra material is hanging straight down, I then wrap the extra material around both support poles; and
lay the cover on and zip up.
My trick is the wrapping of material around the two poles. I found that controls the flailing around of the poles and keeps everything snug. It is even easier with the extension because more material to wrap.
Good luck. If you find more tricks, post 'em!
