Something similar to this happened at ramp on the east coast of Florida.
However it was a yellow Corvette attempting to recover a Sea Doo that had taken on water.
The ramp is frequented by sportman whom launch their fishing rigs and despise PWC riders, so inevitably one of these sportman watched the events unfold, photo documented them, and then later logged the location of the submerged Corvette on the GPS after positing upon the local forum.
(I searched for the thread but couldn't locate it.)
The photos clearly show the vehicle underwater near the end of the pier.
