    How old?

We are in the market for a used boat. Pretty much narrowed it down to a Tige. Question is, how old is too old? Trying to stay in the 1999-2000 year model but my pocket book likes the price on older models.
What year did they move to EFI motors?
What year boat should a steer clear of??

    Welcome
I have a 2001 21 V LTD. I love my boat. It had a distributor and is MPI around 315 HP. There are a lot of guys on here with boats my age or older with up words of 1100 hours on the engine and they run great so don't stress to much on hours as long as the whole boat looks like it has be taken care of. I hope that helps.

I have a 2000 21i and it has EFI. I have just under 500 hours on this boat and I am the original owner. I love this boat and never see myself getting rid of it. Just make sure what your looking at is in good shape with no leaks and definitely test drive it if you can.

I am the original owner of my 97. That was the first year of the wider hull. EFI was an option back then, so some might have it and some might not, it just depends.

I'm not aware of any particular model, or year, boat to stay clear of? Just check them out, like the others have said.
They are a lot of fun!

I've got a '99 and it's an EFI. It's been a very reliable motor. With the exception of the fuel pressure regulator, nothing but routine maintenance.

            I ran my 1997 2150i until last year when I upgraded to a RZ2...

It was a very good boat and most importantly very easy to work on.
If its not fun, Why do it?

There are no specific years to steer clear of, we're talking about tiges here. lol. EFI has been around for awhile. Mine's an '03 with the merc 350 MPI.

and just FYI, my boat is up for sale after this weekend. having no acl, hinders wakeboarding tremendously. pm if interested.

I have a 95 FSLM Comp 2002. Great boat. Best ski wakes I've been behind. It has an EFI with PLENTY of power.
