    Powell Beach Database

Since having a good beach really adds to the enjoyment of Powell I was thinking about composing a page that I could host or a sticky thread here that we could all use to help scout beach locations at Powell. I know for myself I am interested in heading further back into the lake i.e. Wetherill Canyon, but don't want to spent half a day heading there from Antelope and not find a good beach.

Here is kinda what I had in mind.

Location - NE corner of Gunsight
    Water Level - 3625
    Latitude - 37° 3'50.60"N
    Longitude - 111°20'49.09"W

Beach had awesome sand with no stickers in it. You could walk around barefoot the entire day on it. It also had a good slope to it so the back of the houseboat was in about eight feet af water. No bugs!

Google Earth View. Water is really low in Google Earth photo

Looking back off the houseboat. It was awesome having those two rock formations out in the water behind us.

    Location: Wetherill Canyon

    Water Level: 3633
    Lattitude: N37 04.440
    Longitude: W111 06.499

Beach was smooth rock. Very little sand. Due to the high surrounding cliffs we had shade in the morning and early afternoon. No bugs really, just a few annoying gnats around the lights at night.

Thanks TeamAllen. Wetherill looks like a pretty interesting. 3630 maybe the elevation of the water when I go the second week of September.

You might have some people keeping their spot secret, but I'm still favoriting this thread for the time I actually get to Powell.
