    Nav Light

I am in the process of installing a light bar. I have already run the wires through the tower and I ran an extra wire for a Nav light. My initial thought was to cut down the bar that plugs into the hole in the back to about 7-8 inches and mount it to the light bar.

Would this idea work? Any other ideas of a nav light on the tower?

    Thanks

What tower do you have? As I stated in another thread you can probably get the factory tige tower nav light for under $20. I had to replace mine last year, it was about $15. 7-8" isn't really necessary, directly mounted on the light bar would probably be sufficient, as long as it is still viewable 360 degrees, you would be legal.

      Thanks mtnsmith

I have the stock light that you place in the back. I was thinking of just cutting that down and mounting it. Are the stock tower lights similar in looks?

Not really, they are much stouter and have a flat base with a couple screws and the wire for the light goes up through a hole in the middle. They are only about 3' tall I think so you do have to keep in mind that the light must be visible 360-degrees which is why alot of them mount on top of the tow spool, then it is automatically going to be the tallest thing.
