I do the same. I didn't like the straps chafing on the transom.

I threw away the brackets that came with the tie downs and drilled holes through the trailer bunk supports. The bolts that came with the kit was long enough. I also installed the bow tie down from the same mfg.

One good thing about my lifting rings is that they are below the swim platform on my RZ2.
I don't remember....I have a pretty extensive hardware collection at home, but I think I used the hardware that came with the Boat Buckles. I can get some pics tomorrow and post them if you like.

I broke one this weekend so I am looking for replacements. Although I only need one buying the pair allows me to fix with matching tie downs

            Hope it helps you Matt

Because of a long trip(700 miles one way) coming up I decided to buy a replacement set of Retractable Tie downs from the link above and install before I leave.

I have a tube frame so to get access to nut and lock washer I remove my backup lights and rubber mounting grommet.

When my dealer installed the original straps they aligned them horizontally with the rear tow hooks which puts the nut inset further in than my fingers will reach. I will document what I come up with a solution to align the nut with the bolt.

I don't want to drill all the way thru the frame so some how with a closed end 3/4" wrench I am hoping I can either magnetize the wrench or use the fix it tool of all time(duct tape) to hold the nut in place until I can get the bolt screwed together.

Parts should be here on the 3rd and we will head to a local lake on Sunday when hopefully the alcohol count will not be as high as it typically is on the 4th

The replacement Retractable Tie downs looked identical to my original set so I only replaced the bad one and kept the other new one as spare.

I removed my backup light and grommet and was able to get open end wrench to hold the lock nut. After a few cranks of the ratchet the old one was removed and chucked it to the waste bin.

To install new one I used electrical tape between locking nut and box end to keep nut in place. I also use black electrical tape to hold spacing washer in place.

I then hung The retractable tie down to lifting eyelet and adjusted so mounting hole and caps lock nut aligned. Once they aligned I bolted back together and aligned tie down and put light back in. This took about 20 minutes and looks like original after I removed OEM resale name from new buckle.
