    Questions about switches on dash

    I have a 02 21i and I am installing a light bar. I have 2 questions per the attached pic's.

    1) I have 3 buttons that show +1, +2, +3. Are these extras? I pulled the panel off and these do have wires going to each switch. Is this just for power to light up the switch? I am trying to find an open switch for my light bar without drilling holes for new switches.

    2) I have 2 silver knobs that I found out adjusts the 2 speed tachometers. As these have been turned before not knowing how do I gauge these to get an accurate speed?

    1) I do believe those are spare switches, the wiring goes somewhere in the boat for accessories but you should be able to connect your own wiring to them.....

    2) I have always been under the understanding that with no weight 3000 RPM = approx 30 MPH........

Yes the switches are spare...that's where I have my stereo, etc. hooked up. And, Yes to the speedo/tach adjustment too.

This will vary wildly by boat. The best way to check it is with a handheld GPS or one of those portable GPS that you use in a car.

BTW, those knobs are more likely for the Speedo than the Tach.

          Your Correct

Dogbert, I meant the to speedo's. Each knob adjust's the two speedo's.
