I have a 1999 2100V with 350 MAG MPI mercruiser. About a year ago I had to change out my ECM. The original ECM was discontinued and I placed the new ECM conversion kt that took it’s place. Since then I have a stalling problem occur when I decrease acceleration too fast. I usually end up stalling the boat once or twice an outing and the engine will start right back up again. Does any body know if I can have this ECM programmed to solve this problem? Does anybody have any other solutions?

How old is your battery? I had a stalling problem once when I had a battery that was about 3 years old, it would sometimes die when I pulled back from full throttle to nuetral, new battery solved the problem, not saying its the same problem just my"I feel sorry for people that don't drink, when they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're gonna feel all day" - Frank Sinatra

The original ECM was probably an MEFI 3 and they are discontinued.
It can be replaced with an MEFI 4, but requires a conversion harness to retain the "open loop" mode.
The guys at OBD Diagnostics can help with reprogramming: http://www.obd2allinone.com/sc/toplevel.asp?cat=32
Reprogramming involves changing a data table stored on the ECM.
There is a nice chart on OBD's site with part no.s.
Two of the MEFI 3 units are marked as "Used by Mercruiser" which translates to "Needs Password" to reprogram.
Since Merc has discontinued these it would be nice if they would hand out the password.
Our engine came with an MEFI 3 GM-16236999, Merc-861927T 3.
I have a spare unit that OBD says is for a Ramjet and will probably run better than Mercs.
They said Merc tends to run their engines a little rich.
The Rinda Techmate or Merc Scantool are used to read codes: http://www.rinda.com/marine/mtspec.htm
There is also a Codemate code reader: http://www.rinda.com/acro/prodlist.pdf
