Tige 24Ve Tow Cover Question. Need answers fast.

Second posting already, really liking the info available for a new Tige owner. I'm leaving for the Havasu area tomorrow, and have a question regarding the tow cover that came with my boat.

First, should I use this thing when I'm towing, or not even bother with it? This is my first boat, so I'm new to all this. Forgive any stupid questions I might have (now, or in the future). Second, the cover didn't come with any instructions, and I want to make sure that if I do use it, that I'm doing it correctly, and not scratching or damaging my new baby.

I put it on once already, just to keep it covered when it was parked in front of my house overnight, and it seems fairly straight-forward. My only concern is installing it securely and correctly as to avoid any paint or gel-coat damage. Also, I found it impossible to get the front on once the boat was fully on the trailer. Is there a trick to that? Seems like once the bow is all the way forward on the trailer, that it's damn near impossible to slip the front of the cover past the boat rail and the front trailer stops.

Any tips, hints, advice, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Something doesn't sound right. With the boat all the way trailered, the bow eye should be up against the bow stop. The bow eye is at the water line and is well below the rub rail. Got pics?

That's what I was afraid of. When we trailed it after the last (only) trip out, my buddy cranked the boat winch, but put the line underneath a lower cross brace, and pulled the front of the boat downward a bit on the trailer. Right now the rub rail is up against the front stops on the trailer. Great...

Other than that issue, do you have any advice as far as using the tow cover? Guess I won't be using it on the way out there...

Assuming the rub-rail is resting against the front trailer stops, am I going to do any damage by towing the boat 4 hours like that? Not real sure how I'd remedy the situation, other than taking time off work tomorrow and going to the local launch ramp to adjust it. REALLY don't want to mess up the rub-rail...

Yep, you've probably got a foot, foot and a half of boat hanging off the back of the trailer. This is rough on the hull as well as leaves the running gear (prop and rudder, etc) exposed. You need to either dunk it in the water or go by dealer and have them use a hoist to get it all the way up, too heavy to crank up.

We trailered with ours on a few times, had no issues.

chp - I've seen some trailer makes that have two vertical stops in front of the nose of the boat. Maybe that's the style he has, and it isn't on the trailer incorrectly???

Or else maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. Always a very real possibility.

I agree, lots of trailer makers and styles out there, hard to tell without pics.
