I installed Perfect Pass last night (failry easy install IF it works when it hits the water

WHat am I supposed to do with all the connections from the old gauge? There's about 5 negatives and about 4-6 positives, 1 blue wire clip thing, and another black wire that is not a ground. I bolted the multiples together and wrapped electrical tape around all of them so they can't touch and short something out.
Is that acceptable? Is there more to do with them?
I can't get rid of them entirely, when they were not connected together my EFI beep alert would not work.
