    Lake Buchanan

    Hey all,
Heading up to Lake Buchanan for the 4th.. We are staying at Hi-Line Lake Resort which is on the North/West end of the lake (Tow). Any suggestions?? I have heard the water is low so I hope that doesn't make that big of a difference.
    THanks

Hmm, things might be a little shallow there....but there's plenty of water in the main lake body. You might contact the resort to see if their boat ramp is open. Otherwise, the county park on 2341 is always open, but it would be on the other side of the lake.

I've got a house up on Rocky Point, so we'll be up there too. Look for my red & white 21v.

Things are looking pretty bleak water level wise. You might check where you can put in. I'll look for you as well. We'll have a few Tiges parked in our cove by the north end of Rocky Point.

Also, we're seeing some trees pop up here and there in the river channel. It's not a big deal, but you just need top keep an eye out for them. It's pretty obvious where they are. We've been fishing on the lake for years, so the ones that are showing are the only ones you need to worry about.

Thanks for the heads up on the trees.
Not to sound like an idiot, but I have no idea where rocky point is. This is my first trip to Buchanan. We will be close to Tow at Hi-line resort. Where abouts are we located to Rocky Point??
            Thanks man.

I've circled Hi Line Resort on this map. You'll want to follow the black dotted line because that's the deepest part of the lake (river channel). If you can't find a place to launch, I'd try Burnet County Park, which is on the top part of the map.

About 10 miles out of Burnet, there's a Chevron station on the left hand side of Hwy 29. It's just past Park Road 4. Do yourself a favor and pick up a map of Lake Buchanan there. There's a few other gas stations on the other side of the Colorado, but I'm not sure if they carry them (I usually fill up at the Chevron station).

                  Also, I PM'd you my phone #
