all of a sudden

Last week sitting and waiting to load the boat it got really hard to put my boat in the reverse. Anyone have this problem before?

Haven't had that problem before, but I would check the shifter cable linkage connection on the trans to see if it has loosened.
You can reset it by loosening the trans linkage connection, manually move the trans shift arm to neutral, then place the driver's shifter in neutral and tighten up the linkage.

well i check the bolts on the transmission. Unhooked the cable and its still hard to put in reverse and forward. It feels like its in the linkand connected shifter. but i dont even know where to start.
