    seat back removal

I have a 2001 21V. My tower bolts on the port side rear came loose. I can't figure out how to get the seat back out to get to it. I've tried a long extension with a swivel socket but it is a bad angle. Any Help??

Ok, you probably want to read my thread on replacing vinyl on a 21v.

Depending on which seatback you're removing, you'll need to look for what look like deck screws in between the big recessed seams. If it's either of the back corner seatbacks, there are also bolts in the V-Drive lockers that you'll need to loosen.

You want to find that tool I show in the thread because it will save your vinyl from getting messed up. On mine, the deck screws had rusted in a few places so they stripped out pretty quick. So, you'll need to break the rest with a whammy bar. I'd recommend using galvanized or otherwise treated deck screws to replace the original ones.

Once you have it off, there are access holes you can use to tighten the tower.

My thread has lots of pics with the entire interior removed so you can see what it looks like.

    Good luck!

Our tower bolts were loose, too.
The port side rear is real tough.
I ended up trying 6 different combinations of extensions to get just the right length with a swivel and deep socket.
It can be done without removing the seat back.

Unfortunately these pictures are no longer available. Any chance of re-posting these?
My starboard rear tower bolts need to be tightened and I can't access the nuts on the back side.
