What is the word on these motors .I know thay have been around for a long time, how do thay last when properly taken care of.How many hours can i expect out of this motor and what are some of the main problems.

I've got 750 on mine and still going strong with regular maintenance. So far, the only failures were alternator and fuel pressure regulator. Alternator failed due to constant soaking while surfing...I've since fixed the problem.

BTW, the fuel pressure regulator is negatively impacted by the amount of ethanol put in fuel these days. Here's the thread on that.

No sir Dom has a marine power 6.0L not a merc. 5.7L.
