        Thanks...first day...no luck...engine problems...

Took the boat out today with a buddy to try and get used to how it handles, etc...you know...get the kinks out before I take out my wife and kids. Good thing I did. I never got it out of the no wake zone because a warning buzzer came on and it was overheating.

This is a brand new boat mind you. Tige ran it at their factory and the dealer ran it (with a hose) for 30 minutes and everything checked out. Called the dealer while I was in the middle of it all. He said it's not getting water, so either something is over the intake or the water pump isn't working. I'm not a mechanic, so I loaded it back on the trailer to check the intake and nothing was covering it (it does have the optional strainer). Called him back, he called around for some parts, and is coming to my house in the morning to try and fix it...from 1.5 hours away.

Of course the bad news is that this is happening at all with a not so cheap brand new boat. The good news is we are finding this before I get out on the lake with my 4 kids and my wife...would be a disaster. And the better news is that the dealer is making a house call to get me going.

One last thing...some have asked about the cover. The cover is custom made...it's not the Tige cover. The dealer said he wasn't very happy with the fit of the Tiege covers and prefers to have them custom made. I trailered it today without the ropes and it was fine. I'm taking them off now. Great cover.

Aw, man, I can imagine your frustration. But at least the dealer is doing everything he can to get it fixed. Good luck, hopefully you can have a great weekend!

The first time I took my RZ2 out the MAP sensor went out and I was in limp mode. My dealer got into his car, drove to the lake, computer diagnosed it, and I had to take it back to the dealer. They put a new MAP sensor into the boat and I had it back on the water 2 days later. I am sure your dealer is just as good and you will be out there on the lake in no time.

BTW, great idea taking the boat out without the family. I have done that two years in a row and helps to reduce the initial stress that the family can cause.

Sorry to hear about your first experience. Good news is that I am sure they will get it resolved and you will have lots of fun on it.

Stuff happens with all the moving parts and electronics...that's normal. Your dealer driving to you to fix it is not normal--that's over and above the call of duty.

Congrats on the boat. It is SICK. Love the rims too.

                      Up and running!!!

I have to run out, so just a quick note...

The dealer sent their mechanic down. Isolated the problem to the transmission. Turned out the drain plug wasn't in the transmission. Put one in and got it going. We are good to go for tomorrow. I can't say enough about the dealer and their quick response...Schumaker Performance in Greenwood, IN (near Indy).
