Great upgrade, more cupholders

I decided I needed a few more cupholders in the corners behind the rear seat and in front of the sunpad, they have rapidly become very useful especially when hanging out and sitting on the sunpad, I think I have room for two more. Just in case anyone has wondered or wanted to do it here's some shots of what I did. I also put a shot of how thick the deck area is there with the penske core material.

Great idea. Mastercraft has a set there also and we find that they are extremely useful. Is good that you used stainless steel because plastic ones up there get torn apart quickly and have there edges cracked in a couple of years.

I hate the ones on the floor so I will clone your idea. How thick is the fiberglass at that point?

Did you mask the gelcoat side to minimize or eliminate chipping?

i just did the same thing somewhat to our rz. i added two back on the transom where the 08's have them, as the 07's did not.

Money, correct, I put down a couple layers of masking tape and used a saber saw to cut the hole once traced on the tape. The total thickness of that puck I'm holding is about 1 1/8" with the fiberglass on the top and bottom being about 1/4" each and the core material in the middle.

I like that idea also. Where did you get the steel cup holders? Please don't say Tige since I don't want to spend the $$$$ that they will ask for them

I bought mine at the dealership, but you can get them at any of the online catalogs and West Marine.

I got the cupholders for $10 each from a marine surplus store we have nearby. They are quite nice with a rolled edge that's not sharp at all but they don't match the others. I do like them more. If someone wants to pay shipping and the $10 each I'll send them if you can't find them locally.

Great job. Might be next winters projects as I am in behind in the boat projects since I have a job I actually have to work at. Still need to install my transom lights.
