Looks god to me. Looks like all electric motor with a diesel generator.

I wonder the difference in cost?

Sweet! It even runs on Biodiesel, which is pretty easy to get here in Austin.

I heard that it was $120k, any truth to that?

That's what the reports were on wakeworld when they unveiled it a few months ago.

They are already taking orders but the cost will range from 120-150k. Really not worth it as its cost does not offset how much you will save in fuel. If its costs were closer to regular boats it would be hard not to look at it. The ROI may be there in a few years if the costs of these batteries drop.

As with any technology, the price goes down with numbers. That fact that they can do it is impressive, now just need to figure out how to make it practical.

I still wonder if we couldn't get more fuel efficient wakeboard boats with ultra clean diesel power plants. Diesel is more efficient, especially when you have high demand for torque like you do on these boats.

I've been researching a setup to convert an existing hull to electric only. The speed controller, batteries, and motor carry the majority of the expense on a conversion, my estimations for cutting edge equipment that can withstand the harsh marine environment are $15k - $20K, which could be cut in half with lessor components.

One of the benefits is, the system's batteries are ballast.

I had plans to retrofit an old Ski Supreme or Dixie Super Skier with an electric drive but instead purchased recreational lakefront that was not limited by restrictions imposed by a Home Owners Association.

You can get some diesels to run on used, filtered cooking oil from restraunts. So, theroretically, you could ride all summer long for free. However you'd always be craving french fries or chinese food.
The luck is gone, the brain is shot, but the liquor we still got.

Yep, Team Tige rider Nick Weinacker ran his diesel truck all summer long last year for free by doing this!

Having the hybrid option adds about 50% to the cost.
