Guess I should read the whole post before responding as you stated it will not run know, hmmmmm.

Ok, gotta agree with the kid...........are you out of gas? A dry running fuel pump will sound different then one primmed with feul.

Get a can of carb cleaner and spray a few shots down the throttle body and give it a crank. It will either fire up or try to fire up. If that doesnt seem to make any difference, Put the flame arrestor back on, put it neutral and put the throttle to wide open and crank it. If it's flooded, this should clear it out. You could also pull a spark plug an see if they are wet or dry.

It sounds like you're not getting ignition from your spark plugs. It could be a cracked spark plug or bad plug wire, especially if you replaced the distributor cap.

Also, did you replace just the cap or the rotor/cap?

If there is water, I wonder if the spark plug wires have rusted and they need to be replaced.

Wet with fuel - typically means and extremely rich condition, as liquid fuel is not conductive nor flammable, or there is no spark.

I replaced the cap and rotor. I have not had a chance to pull spark plugs. The wires are in good condition no rust.

Make sure your flame arrestor is clean. Are you able to get it to start up at all?

One more thing. Earlier this year I ran out of gas. I had the exact same symptoms as you. Long story as to why, but my fuel flow meter was acting up that day...still no excuse...running 7 hrs hard should have been my first clue, but that's .

My dealer told me they had a heck of a time to get it to prime with fuel and get it started. Not sure of all they did, but you might want make sure you don't have air in your fuel line.

Another thought was that the Mercruiser electronic ignition module is extremely sensitive to low voltage situations. I want to say if voltage drops below a certain level (it's like 11.x), then it will just not fire. Not sure what levels your batteries are at or the charging situation, but something else to consider.

I changed all spark plugs and tested the fuel pressure.

The fuel pressure is at 25 psi.

It cranks and turns over just does not start!!!

Pull one of the plugs and ground it to the engine block while cranking to see if you're getting any spark.

Ok, I pulled a plug and grounded it to the engine block. There is no spark. What should be my next step?

I think this is the correct manual for your boat but Im not 100% sure. If it is this may help with testing your coil and sensor.

Does your engine have an external ignition coil?

It was the ingnition coil. We are taking it out this evening to see how it runs. Please wish us luck!
