      Love Lake Tahoe.

That is where we primarily do our boating. Some absoulutely great places to go on the lake. Yes, the water is cold, but it feels so great when it is 80 during the summner and you jump in.

Where is your base of operations up there (what ramp)? We run out of Obexer's.

Late July through early Sept., the top 3 ft. or so of the lake can get up around 63 degrees. Perfect on high 80's summer days.

I think this was the earliest I've ever ridden Tahoe. I pussed out and wore the dry suit. While waiting for the rope to come back to me, I had to float on my back and keep my hands and feet out of the water. After 15-20 sec. in the water, they would really start to hurt. I know, what a baby.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

That water has looked great for awhile. The States of Nevada and California have done a great job making sure that erosion does not interfere with the water quality.

          Great picture Nickypoo

Hey Nickypoo, we go out of the ramp by the Coast Guard station just east of Tahoe City. Our house is just a mile from the ramp. Very convienent.

The ramp is actually free to launch, you have to pay for parking. If you go early enough in the morning you can find parking on the street just outside of the ramp. It's the only free ramp on Lake Tahoe.

Not sure how often you are up there, but if you get a chance go to Sand Harbor on the Nevada side. Great place to anchor off the shore and dive into the water. You can see the granite boulders below the surface. A little way down from there is nude beach...enough said. Down from that is the Hyatt and it has a floating bar.

Our favorite place to go is Garwoods. Pull up to the dock and sit outside on the patio. They are famous for their "Wet Woody" drink. Go slow with them though, they pack quite a punch!!

We love Lake Tahoe. The clarity has gone down over the years, but is still amazing. The sad thing is we actually live in Texas so don't get up there as much as we would like, but still one of my favorite spots in the world.
