Was on lake Oroville this afternoon, from 4:30 til 9pm. Whole lake to ourselves it seemed like, with perfect glass and 85 deg weather. Water 72. Will go out in the am and late afternoon. Have fun with the pasties and beer bongs, we will be surfing the glass. The whole family is stoked about our new wake, it is so nice.http://wake9.com/

Unfortunately, I'm not going anywhere. Working Saturday and Monday, picking up the pieces of the stupid people who drink and attempt to operate some type of motorized vehicle or craft. Paramedics don't get holidays off...usually. Which is fine...I hate the crowds anyways. Be safe out there.

Day 1 of Lake Lewisville - Party Cove...NICE!
I think it was Chpthril that first mentioned the Coast Guard Vessell Safety Check idea - and I did it this year - super easy, they come to you and give you a safety stop - then you get a sticker for your windshield. Thanks Mike!

I saw first hand today - this deal works! I was the Designated Driver today (gonna get DRUNK tomorrow!) so I only had water to drink today. We definity fit the profile for a stop. 12 on the boat and 11 of them were DRUNK. I'm in the marina and a couple people jump up on the swim deck to smoke. I cut to idle and bark at everyone to sit the F down because the game warden is looking right at us. Sure enough, he comes over to us -eyeballs the boat real good and sees the sticker, then he pulled the boat w/ 4 people over which was right behind us.
I'm totally convinced that safety check sticker will reduce our stops by the law this year...Last edited by jmstige; 05-24-2009, 06:25 AM.

BTW - We were at Sloans this past Saturday. We shared the lake with one other boat. It was like having a private lake.

I'd take a prop... I forgot to put the plug into my boat and almost sank it. Was by the launch ramp and started to hear water coming out of the bilge pump and yelled back to my friend to get the trailer. We got it immediately and the water didn't get high enough to touch the engine. Glad that I was paying attention and didn't have the stereo cranked.

With the bilge working should be able to get most of water out. Then get the plug ready stop the boat turn off the engine and jump in and put the plug in by hand. Once you get to shore tighten it down with your tool of choice.

Good catch. Sure glad we aren't reading about you earning your U-boat commander badge.
