Help, I am looking to purchase a 95 tige' and really don't know that much about the boat. The one that I am looking at has less than 300 hrs. How does this boat handle and what problems should i expect.
I had that model for over 11 years of flawless performance. It was a great slalom boat. You won't find another boat with handling nearly as good as that hull. You also won't get large wakeboarding wakes. The boat was designed for slalom skiing, and it performed really well.
Take a look at the boat, and make sure the motor has been kept in good shape. Make sure they did yearly oil changes, or at least every 80 - 100 hours. Make sure they have a good impeller, and that the motor is running well.
Open the floor boards and look in the drive line and engine compartments to make sure you don't see any oil drips, and water marks from sitting in water or leaks. Also look at the stringers to make sure there is no bubbling from rot.
the boat is in excellent condition. i though about a newer model moomba, but i have not heard many good things about them. kind of compared them to a kia in the boat world.
Have you skied behind the boat yet? The early model Tige's have unbelievable slalom wakes. I know a lot of skiers who own early model Tige's and absolutely will not buy another boat due to the waterski performance.
thanks dclarke, no i have not skied behind it yet. it is in texas and i live in tulsa. my father who lives close is going down there this weekend to take it out and check it out. i hope it's a good one.
i would like a newer one but between child support and alimony this is about it for now.
but thanks again to everyone giving me input on this.
