The tank that is under there is surrounded by a fiberglass housing of some sort. I could feel it when I crawled in one of the boats at Wasatch marine. The rear was open into the back compartment where the batteries traditionally are, and I could feel the discharge pump there attached to a plastic tank.
I am eager to see some pics of the build process and how this thing works. I can describe it the best I could tell from feeling it, but I might be pretty limited.Be excellent to one another.

In floor would be nice from a space standpoint, but I'd think it would make it more difficult to upgrade your ballast system. I tried to figure out a way to put tanks/sacs under the floor when I had my interior ripped out, but my boat is too shallow. Now, this is going to seem contradictory to what I stated above about making it more difficult to upgrade, but I really like how some boats are building chambers into the hull that fill with water for ballast purposes. That seems to be a good use of space so long as the structural integrity is not compromised.

^^^^ With the new in-floor system, you could throw a custom system with sacs right in the storage area like many have done in their boats that do not have factory ballast The only thing would be where to add more bow weight to offset the added rearMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The in floor ballast is pretty cool, though. It actually improves the handlng characterstics a bit because the lower center of gravity for the rear ballast.Cursed by a fortune cookie: "Your principles mean more to you than any money or success."

I should have articulated my response a little better. I might be wrong, but I assumed that when a lot of people upgraded their ballast from stock, they simply purchased bigger bags to replace smaller bags or tanks. Under such a scenario, you would be able to utilize the existing pumps and lines. You would simply unhook one bag/tank and plug in another. With the in floor, you would at a minimum have to plumb in additional lines.
