I have 1500 pounds of fat sacs (500 on each side of the engine, and 500 in walkthrough) in my 06 22ve and last time I was out at the lake my surf wake was not shaping up right and the boat wouldnt plane out when I wanted to wakeboard after surfing... unless I put the taps at 1 (for waterskiing) and then at 22 mph I would drop the taps back to 6 or 7 and the boat would slow down to 15 mph and not plane out again... does any one have any suggestions?

The taps at 1 is there not just for waterskiing but to help the boat plane out. When at 1 the taps is pushing the stern up, and the bow down, making the boat more level to the water displacing less water, therefore taking less power to get on plane. When at 5 6 7 the hull is riding in its natural position, which is to plow through the water, displace more, and in turn it causes more drag which means it needs more power.Common Sense is not so Common
Looking for fat chicks for long walks, romance, cheap buffets, and BALLAST.

Was this your normal lake, no hi-altitude vacation spot?
(1) Check you prop for dings or bends
(2) Is the fuel fresh? Fuel filter been replaced and flame arrester clean?
(3) Will the run out like normal with no ballast? Should run 40+ easy turning about 4,800 rpm's

This is my normal lake... still at 5500 ft (mile high) but the boat ran perfectly the week before with the same weight... and I did push the throttle down all the way and it would not respond and then I thought it was the tige speedset but i had that toggle switch off... I will take it out this weekend and see what it does...Work Hard, Play Harder!!!

As far as not planing out enough to get up to speed for wakeboard. A couple of weeks ago I did fill all my ballasts 2100 lbs and had the tabs at 7 or 8, the boat would not go faster than 17 mph. I changed the tabs to 2 or 3 and emptied the ballast on the side that I do not jump and the wake was Huge and I was able to get the boat up to the desired speed. i wakeboard with 2250 ballast plus at least 4 peeps. i've got 600 up front, 800 in the walkway, and 880 in my rear lockers. in order to have a good wake i have to go 25-26 and i like taps at 4 with that much weight and it make's it easier to keep the wake cleen compared to 7-8. and at 7-8 it's to steep to really be consistant. and my speedset holds real well
it takes me a while to get to speed but not to bad. like alot of people i put taps all the way down to get out of the whole then put it up. if i go to hiugher elevation then it struggles and i almost cant have thtmuch weight. and also if you have full ballast and tons of people your going to have a hard time making the wake good. i usually dont fill my ballast full if my boats full of people

Thanks guys... I for some reason had a wierd day at the lake that day... normally I have no problems... and I took the boat to lake powell and didnt fill the ballasts b/c I had 10 peeps in the boat and i moved them around from side to side and it was great... I dont know why anyone would buy another boat... tige's are amazing... their multi functionality is phenomenal and even when they are not performing optimally they are still better than any other boat out there...
