how was the enzo setup, as far as ballast when you saw the wake? Did it have the switchblade? Also, the enzo is pretty known for having a great wake, but not very well for having a great wake on both sides. One reason why they have the RightSurf system.
Believe me, if I felt I could get a MUCH better wake with an Enzo, I would have one for next season.http://wake9.com/

Sounds like you have not found the right set up yet. We run 700lbs on the side we are not surfing, 1000+ lbs on the side we are surfing + all Passengers and 5-600lbs in the bow. speed at about 12mph taps at 6-7.
I can stay in until my legs are done and am close to pulling a 360. 190lbs on a 4'? yellow loogie.Attached Files

That is very close to my setup, except when goofy I run 11.6 or 11.8, but when reg, I drop to 10.8-11.2. The reg wake has a much cleaner face, and nicer lip at that speed.
I have def found, weight both sides, weight surf side more, to be the best, not just weight the surf side. Also, 5-600 lbs up front.
The thing is, when you buy a enzo, they are setup to surf. With my Ve, I have found, that I get a great wave, I have just had to experiment more with setup, cuz tige didn't set these up right away to surf. But the hull makes a great wave, and makes a great wave on both sides, and easy to quickly change.http://wake9.com/

Talk about throwing out the baby with the bathwater!
You have not given yourself a chance. Set up your boat right and it will do you right.
I would seriously reconsider giving the Tige a chance. I suppose if all you do is surf, it might be a reasonable thing to do.
I don't want to start any animosity, but anyone who dogs on the TAPS has clearly not used it properly, and does not understand it.
This is not an optical illusion:
Be excellent to one another.

^^^^ agreed, but every Tige dealer out there that says you don't need ballast, is also retarded. My dealer gave me the same line, over and over, and in the end, I didn't get ballast. But at the same time, tige had serious problems with the 2007 ballast from other users on here.http://wake9.com/

i read it somewhere, im 90% sure it was on this forum, that the enzo gets a nasty double lip on the surf wake that really ruins it.
and all functionality aside, the enzo is hiddeous!!!! that stupid, double swirled side with the cheap looking metal flake in the gellcoat... the seriously ugly tower which looks like the bastard child of the malibu illusion x tower and the oldschool four post towers... a face even a mother would struggle to love..

You might want to talk with Ragboy about he dialing of a surfwake on a 24Ve. Ragboy is under the assumption that his boat can produce a better surfwake then the Centurian. I would have to agree with Rag on this.

I believe my Ve is a better all around boat, and can throw a wake with the best of them. In a head on contest, where the amount of weight was not an issue, the enzo could edge me out.
Here is the bottom line, my kids have been behind tournament wake boats in wake competitions, including the World INT comps last year. They have been to several surf comps, and have been behind enzos weighted by centurion themselves, and the sangers at NorCal comp. When we weight our boat, more casually in our outings with our family, I have never heard anything like "I wish we had that malibu wake, or that enzo wake, or whatever" Our wake has held its own both in wakeboarding and definitely surfing. I also think our 24Ve is a better all around boat, especially for a family.
My point, is I have a great family boat, and I can use it to train and practice my kids for professional competitions. I don't have to drop NO HUGE piece of gas guzzling steel in the water, or put 3k of ballast in either.
I think one of the reasons the enzo has a good wake, is it has a hull that displaces water well, just like my 24Ve with the convex v hull.
I think Tige would do well to promote their boats more for wakesurfing, and actually give it some surf specific options, like some type of fresh exhaust system, and BIG ballast tanks in the rear, where the boat needs it, not up front. Just my 2 cents. And maybe sponsor some family or something to help them get the word out. I happen to know one. ;-)
A couple more notes on the sanger. During the comp and my demo, I noticed that they had lots of problems with the perfect pass at surfing speeds. Also, the captains chair was VERY low, it did have a bolster, but the bow rise was VERY high on the sanger at surfing speeds, and the drivers I saw had to sit on the BACK of the chair, the bolster was too low, and sometimes stand up.
Also, the bow on the sanger was TINY. Not only tiny, but the floor in the bow, like the centurions, was on a few inches below the seat, so you couldn't sit sideways and fit a few people up there.
The tower on the sanger, looked like a nice folding design, kinda like a samspon razor, but it was chinsy. I was thin tubing, and the supports were just flimsy.
Last, the freeboard on the sanger is still very low. However, the sanger had GREAT vinyl. Almost every boat except maybe the moomba we tested had better vinyl than my tige.
So both the Sangers and Enzos had decent wakes, but could no way pull me from my tige.
Not to say that my tige is perfect. The bow could use some type of flare like the enzos to help keep water from coming over bow. The E tower and bimini just sucked. Cost me $4k to fix that on my boat, and I love my samson switchblade, that 3 inch tubing is so stout. And then there is the vinyl. For $60k, it should have been better. Anyway, I love my boat, and can afford to swap it for a enzo or a sanger, or even an X45 if I wanted to. I made the right decision.http://wake9.com/

Just saw this, from some enzo owners themselves about how the enzo is VERY difficult to weight on the goofy side, a one sides boat.
