I would definitely use a single inlet with either the Jabsco or the Johnson pumps along with a PVC manifold. You then only have one penetration and one shut off. I prefer the Johnson pump. My experience is that they are faster than the Jabsco and a lot faster than the tsunami pumps.

nice. how close do you think i can drill the holes in the bottom of the boat because i want to be able to access the shut off valves all together.

Do you have access to your transom from inside your boat? If so, you might want to check out what I did on mine in this thread.

What pumps are you using, what are the specs? Most of the impeller style pumps, like the Jabsco Ballast Puppies, i've seen used for ballast systems are rated at 12-14 gpm, the Tsunami T1200's are 20 gpm.

The Johnson pumps are rated for 12 gpm. (189-102469003 ULTRA BALLAST PUMP) I have had both the Jabsco and the Johnson and the Johnson fill faster period. I don't care what the specs say. As for the tsunami pump, it is a lot slower. When I am wakesurfing and I am changing up sides for friends who surf goofy, it takes several more minutes to empty one side (using the tsunami) and fill the other.(using the Johnson)

My Jabsco ballast puppies are much faster than the Tsunamis. My 400# V-Drive sacks fill in 2-3 minutes and my bow sack in under 5. Way faster than the Tsunami I used to use.

There is an access panel right behind my engine cover in the 22ir I was thinking about putting all three thru hulls right there with a 90 degree on the thru hulls, the shutoff valves and then the Attwood pumps 800 or 1200 depending if I can find all the fittings or not the pumps will be below the water line laying flat.
Do you think that I might get air stuck in-between the 90 and the pump?

By the price, Id say those are Ignition Protected! If they are mounted in the bilge, I strongly recommend you use IP pumps.

Here is a quick illustration showing option A with a single thru-hull and a 90* elbow. This should get the pumps down below the water line and prevent vapor-lock. Option B has the pumps in line with the thru-hull. With the added length of a shut-off valve, i'd bet thy will be prone to vapor-lock.

Just some thought that come to mind.

I mounted my Johnson pumps in each of the side lockers up high to avoid getting them wet. The front pump is located under a cushion in front of the storage locker. These pumps are self priming and they are ignition protected.

My thought hull fitting is located on the port side of the engine compartment at the rear of the compartment. There is an elbow going to the stern and the shut off is accessible in the rear access compartment. I then turned 90 degrees and made PVC manifold with three fill points; one each for the rear lockers and one going forward for the front sac.

chpthril i was thinking of haveing the pumps lay longways with the boat with the 90 and no check valve because im going to run the hose high up and then back down to the bag. if i use the johnson pump i will pump the pumps in the compartment and not put them as high so that it will not have a problem primeing e

Sorry, Jake, it should have read "shut-off" valve, not check valve as you had talked about using. If you used an aerator style pump, your best bet would be option A. If you go with self-priming impeller type pumps, you can just about mount them any where/way you want. Also, with Impeller type pumps, you shouldn't need check-valves.

With the impellar type pumps do you have to shutoff your valves when the bags are full to keep the water from draining?
