    2002 22ir ballasts

I am looking for the least expensive system that I can without sacrificing quality or speed. Remember I have a 2002 22i type R.

This is what I want so far tell me if I should change anything or if something is better.

    Pro X side sacs 189.99

    Dimensions (each): 48" x 12" x 12"
    Capacity (each): 260+ lbs.
    Fittings (each): 1 drain, 2 fill/vent

    Pro X bow sac b 239.99

    Dimensions: Main: 20X29X12, Arm: 32" X 12" X 12"
    Weight Capacity: 800+ lbs

    1x for now, Tsunami pump 1200gph 39.95
I will be doing this manually for a while because
I don’t want to cut holes in the boat, yet....

    1. I will need hose, fittings, and clamps should I just get the kit for 99.99 or get the parts separate?

    2. If I want to make an automatic system down the road to I need two tsunami pumps per sac? (One to fill one to empty)

    3. I think that the front sac has 3/4" fill/drain ports and the side sacs have 1" is this true?

all the prices are from Wakeside.com if you know of a better place to order from that has free shipping let me know.

As far as I know, all the Fly High sacs use 3/4 straight threads.

I would just get the $99 pump kit and be done.

The bow sac will not completely fill, probably be around 500-600#'s

Yes on 2 pumps per sac unless you use reversible impeller type pumps, but the cost is quite a bit more.

i guess you can't go wrong with two $40.00 pumps.

Except you'll need some sort of gate valve or check valve system. Check valves can reduce overall pump throughput, especially for Tsunami type pumps. My ballast puppies fill really fast and there's no need for check valves.

Also, you'll need a shut-off valve for anything below the waterline. It was a challenge for me to find room for that on my boat, but yours may be different. If you don't have room for a 2" thru hull w/ shut-off valve, consider individual 1" valves w/ 1" thru hulls instead.

Check with SPBFAN andrew@automarinecare.com for a better price before you order! I went with the v-drive sacs and the bow sac on my 22i and they fit perfect. The wake is awesome - hope to plumb it in this winter.

When I bought mine last year, they came with 1 quick-conn and the rest of the holes filled with the thread in plugs.

just finished putting a ballast in a 2100v limited. I followed the instructional on wakeside. I can start filling and by the time I get to my spot everything is full and great wake.1600 pounds make for a nice wake.

I got the v drive sacs right after this post from my dealer and the tsunami pump kit. and the wake for wakeboarding was great, but i did try to wakesurf for the first time and could only do it for a little bit because the pocket was so small. im going to get the bow sac for next year but how much more weight am i going to need to get a good surf wake?

NICKYPOO surfs all the time and his boat is pretty close to yours. Search for some of his posts in the Wakesurfing forum.

His boat is the older seating configuration.
