    Auto Ballast Tubing

What tubing did you use on your ballast system when you installed it? Are you happy with it or would you use something else?

Let me clarify, not size but the type of tubing.

I used the clear plastic tubing with the wire mesh inside. I got mine at Home Depot. If you buy a whole roll, the last 2-3' get pretty mashed down, but other than that, it's great. It retains it's shape really well and is easy to work with.

Do you have any problems with it kinking?

So far I am looking at using the Flex PVC from the Manifold to the Pump and then using some multiflex from the pump to the bags. I am just worries that the Multiflex might cause some problems with the clamps.

No, it won't kink unless you try to get it around a really tight corner. In this case, I just used a 90 degree hose connector to do that.

I just swichedsome of mine from the clear braided hose to a clear with black spiral bilge hose. worked so well I will change out the rest on my next trip. only draw back to this new stuf is the cost, $2.90 per foot.

I just bought 50' for $64 shipped. I see the prices at Home Depot and West Marine and it was shocking!

We use this 1.5" hose from the thru hull to the manifold.

This 3/4" hose from the manifold to the tanks/bags.

Thanks! That is what my plan is. Flex PVC from Manifold to Pump and Multiflex from pump to bags.
