    Vent & Drain lines......

    xpjim1,
Looking at your diy ballast install thread, did you use the same thru-hull for the drain & vent with a Tee & a check valve in the vent line?

I got some 3/4" spring check valves this weekend at Lowe's.

When the bag is filling and venting, is there enough pressure to compress the spring?

on my system the pumps would not open the spring type check valves. I upgraded to swing valves this winter. BTW I am using simmers which I suspect pump more psi than centrifugal style pumps

What about this check valve, it needs very low pressure to open. Check Valve.

I ordered mine from mcmaster carr today. I liked the idea of a 0.1 psi cracking pressure.

Unless you use the water puppy pump it will push a spring valve open.
