      Update

Ok, got some new info on this. Apparently there was a mid year production change on the rear storage. Tige did have deeper coolers for non-ballast boats, but know all get the shallow cooler regardless.

So does that mean my 07 24Ve has the shallower coolers, and so can handle the factory ballast post install?

I will measure the height of the tanks today and post. It was an 07 mid year change, so the best thing to do would be to check the clearance between the floor and the bottom of the cooler against the height of the tanks.

Factory tanks for this 22Ve measure 12" tall.

Ordering the boat with factory ballast was a great idea.

I've been cruising around this weekend in the new ride. I must say I'm impressed with the TAPS2 system. It puts out a very good wake and I didn't burn a tank of gas in 1 day.

I made a couple of run with my ballast filled up as well. It made a big difference. I probably won't fill them up every trip, because there are a lot of basic tricks I'm still trying to learn . However, I did enjoy the all out assault a couple of times.

Maybe next year I'll need more.

This is going to be good to get to the bottom of this.

The RV tank manufacturers could make a tank that is 1 inch shorter for not too bad of a price. They seem to be capable of making any size and shape you want.

I have been tinkering with getting the factory ballast, but then I would need to install something extra for surfing. Has anyone done that with a T on one of the lines and maybe a second pump or something?
Tall I have factory ballast in my 24V and I don't like them. They get in the way. I have thought about converting my boat to sacs. In addition to that where you have to position the factory ballast in the boat they do not help that much because they are to far forward in the compartment.

                              Haney,

How/where are they positioned in your 05?

They are positioned in the front half of the rear storage and they run up under the bench seats taking up that space. I have them in the front storage compartments taking up half that space on each side. I have four tanks. two in front and two in the rear. I figure if I have to give up space they should be bigger and give me more weight. I seldom have 12 people on the boat to ballast it down.
