2005 24v no ballast need help big guy surfing

New to the foruM and new to a v drive

I just bought a 24v and it has no ballast. We pulled our two 550 bags from the old dad boat and our delta wakeshaper and headed out. My wife was able to surf and it was amazing in comparison to our old Supra but I am 6,5 300lbs and need a pretty amazing wave to surf. I am looking at the straight line 1000 lbs sacks for the rear along with two sumo max flow pumps as I would like to do the install this winter. I was planing on putting one of the 550 in between the sets up front as I don’t have the playpen cushion. Let me know what your thoughts are thanks in advance

That should be pretty good close weight wise with a shaper on there although there are guys on here running almost twice that weight in that same boat. Just depends on how big you wanna go I guess. I personally like the fly high bags best as I think they’re the best quality.
This is what I’d recommend for a pretty budget friendly setup that’ll give you a killer wave and can all be used in your system once automated. Two Fly high jumbo V Drive bags (1100 pounds each at $200 apiece, fly high part 719) great fit in your lockers and still leave your underseat storage. Add a couple hundred pounds of lead wake bags underneath each rear locker bag (Roughly $50 per fifty pounds). Then a Fly high U shaped bow sack, 725lbs at $270 (fly high part 711) get three Tsunami supa pumps ($150 each) to fill and drain each manually.
Three bags and three tsunami pumps to start will get you going until you want to plumb it in then you can reuse all the same stuff in your automated system. I’d personally save 1 of the pumps for emergency use, to drain a sack that has a failed pump, etc... but I’m a d$#m boy scout at heart. After that you’d just need to add 3 more pumps, check valves, hose, switching, a shutoff, manifold and the fun part, cutting holes in your boat for the thru hull fittings.

Are the straight line sumo sacs not itegratable? I was looking at them for the quicker fill of the submersible pumps? I was reading through Duffy’s install and liked the rule pumps he choose as time on the lake is in short supply for me. I figure that if this winter I integrate the system with through hole pumps that if needed I could supplement the fill time with the extra submersible pumps.

I like the idea of not having to buy 6 more pumps but if I can decrease the fill time I think it would be worth it. Is it possible to dual pump into one sac? Is there pressure issues of bursting the sac with two 1 inch lines filling and only one line venting?

Everyone gets tired of manual fill that’s why he’s recommending that route so u can use them when u switch. Which u will more than likely do. No to hijack this but I have a 1100 lb wakemakers jumbo sac with 2 1” quick fill fly high connections and 1 3/4 for vent. For sale right now if interested. Used less than a season. I want 150$ cdn plus shipping if interested. Save a few bucks. Otherwise your option is get ahold of MLA on here and he will dial u in

They are definitely integratable and those pumps are beasts to say the least.
I have Johnson reversible pumps in my system rated at < a 1/4 of the GPH of those pumps and it takes only about 6-7 minutes to fill my 1000 lb rear sacks. By the time you launch your boat, and someone’s ready to ride they’re full. Placing bags and connecting pumps to bags and power and throwing pumps overboard is what takes time.
You can dual fill for sure but I’d think you’ll need to keep an eye on the bags as they fill so you don’t risk a rupture with that big of pumps.

With no modification to the rear compartment how full will the 1000 bags actually fill? Should I go for the 1150 for the extra fifty buck or will the they not fill any more than the 1100

I am surfing on a Ronix 4 ft 8 board and have been able to ride without the rope behind our dd Supra. With the three bags will the wave be large enough for me to have large pocket I surf or will I still be stuck with a foot or two of room. How much are custom sacs Luke the Enzo sack for this boat?

900# is about what the locker will allow with a rectangle sac.

Took the boat out last night for a coupl hours and have a few more questions for you all

With both rear sacks(1100#) full and just the three kids up front (120#) boat would not get to speed. We added a 550 to the middle between front seats and wave formed and boat got to speed and wave formed. I am pretty sure that the boat has the original prop on it and it has seen better days ( multiple dings). What prop would be best for heavy weighted surfing 70% wakeboarding 20% kids tubing 10-%? 340 hp motor

Secondly the factor swim deck seemed to be digging into the wave. With more front weight will this go away? Can I add 1 or 2 inch spacers underneath the mounts to raise it enough to cl at the wave?

Stock prop would have likely been the ACME 537. I would not make a suggestion without know what is actually there. Also would be interested in the lake elevation.

The lakes we normally go to are 3500 to 5500 ft. I am not sure but will look for the part number tonight when I get home.

Acme 1235 pushes my 22VE fully loaded up at 7500’. It’s an absolute beast at lake Powell (3600’)
I surf a lot but still wakeboard quite a bit and Like to cruise the lake checking stuff out. I didn’t want a tractor prop that I can’t cruise 25-30 mph without redlining my engine. The 1235 is a great blend of performance for people that do a little of everything.
Keep in mind that by gaining low end torque you’ll be giving up top end speed.

Sorry for the delay. Just got under the boat and the only number I can find is “253b” have not been able to find any informaction online please help? With the two 1100 sacs in the rear and a 550 on the front and roughly 500 lbs of people in the boat yawing the delta wakeshaper it required around 3000 rpm to keep a surgable wave not sure on speed as speedo is not working. Wave was definitely better and I had about 5 ft of room to play.

Definitely having a lot of drag from the factory swim deck(fiberglass). Adding more weight to the front should lift it a little but has anyone ever lifted it with 2 inch blocks between bracket and swim deck?

How much should I expect to pay for a fresh air exhaust ( nothing fancie just the bolt together)

There should be markings on the center of the prop to indicate model number, diameter and pitch, manufacturer or something useful.

I feel your pain with the swim deck... I have taped mine off to cut down in size several times but just can’t seem to take the saw to it.

What do you have he Taps set at when surfing?

I am 6’1” 260 and if there are only 3-4 of us at the lake I fill the tanks and bags in the rear to 2000 lbs and then put another 600 lb bag on the rear seat. I fill the front up until it is coming out of the vent (fly high 750 lb bag). I put my wake shaper on as far back as it goes, Taps at 3 and speed at 11.4, works well for me. 24’ boats need weight for sure.
I had the acme 537 prop and switched to a 1235, big difference when weighted.
