    2006 22ve with stock ballasts

    I am able to find the sweet spot and surf with no rope with only driver on board but would like to supplement my system with more weight. Also to tie into existing system so stock and piggy back bag will fill and release in tandem. Unsure of bag size and fittings to accomplish this..anyone has done it?

    contact chpthrl and get his large sack. my 22ve was night and day with that added to it...

      Bag size - Custom double "L" sac that holds about 1100 lbs

      Integrated into the OEM ballast - Filling is going to SOOOOO SLOW due to the size of the sac. Draining is problematic because the soft sac and hard tank on the same plane. I would seriously consider installing dedicated plumbing for the sacs.

        Ok. I'm up for switching out pumps. I just want it to integrate with the controls and intake/release

          Switching out the fill pump still leaves the issue with draining. There are also going to be instant passive draining through the vent and drain outlets. Integrating opens a can o worms.

            I don't like cans of worms. Is there a good way to piggy back on the stock ballasts? I am pretty gunshy about removing the hard tanks, but if I have to I'll look into it deeper

              If you are fine with super long fill times and incomplete draining of the sac, then yes, they can be connected to the factory plumbing. Still more to go in order to stop the passive draining you will get once the larger sac is installed. Dont have to remove the hard tanks, keep that extra 250.

                I would take everything Mike is saying Ballast wise and do it. He probably has the most time out of anyone here in regards to ballast and what works for that boat.

                  I have been reading multiple forum threads and I can see that he is uber knowledgeable. Is there a thread I can read discussing how to for removing and replacing the stock ballasts?

                    Look for Stingray's ballast thread. He had a similar plumbing setup as your 06 Ve. He gutted the factory ballast, capped the thru-transom intake and then started fresh with thru-hulls in the bilge.

                      Looks like my most efficient way of getting this done without drilling new holes in my boat would be to remove the rear hard tanks and replace with larger bags. Assuming that I could still use the factory ports for fill and drain? Does anyone know what I would be looking at in terms of cost here?

                        Scrap the rear tanks and get the custom sacs. Then add double fill and dump pumps. Night and day difference. Then get a Delta and game on. Make sure to crossover the dump and fill lines too or you'll get a lot of passive draining, and check valves on the fill lines. When you get your rubrail down to the water it gets fun.

                          Definitely don't run your new sacs in combination with the hard thanks. As Mike said it will (and is) stupid slow. I have my hard tanks independent from my custom sac. Custom is on dual fill and dual drain. Gets a little crowded below the floor but in all I have 14 pumps in my boat....I'm all aerator.

                            mike sold me the large "enzo" style sack he sells- piggybacked on the hard tanks and then he sent supplies to add a drain/fill on 1" lines for that sack. it took around 6 or 7 minutes to fill that side completely. the wave was awesome and never complained about the fill/drain times.
                            was a bit of a wiring challenge to tap into the tt and medallion panel to install the relays to run it but not too bad. boat without tt I would think would be much easier.

                              Thanks for your replies. I am not where my boat is currently until the weekend, so I'm not 100% sure the space I have to install these enzo style sacks. Did you cut holes in your boat to accomodate the new fill/drain lines?
