Yes not a typo 1000# in the bow (plus Factory) total of about 1500# in the bow.
But as Elevated said its not on the tip of the nose. With the rear ballast empty nothing sub floor and no PnP filled it does have a bit of nose down attitude and the swim step is an easy 7" out of the water. However, after you fill the rear ballast and the PnP the boat has a much more level attitude to offset the big bow weight. I will pre-curser this by saying I would ensure you have a driver that is comfortable and confident in driving a boat with this much weight in the bow.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"
These measures strike me as extreme? If the boat needs this much up front weight, does the hull need some tweaks to make it more optimized?
That is just a massive amount of lead. Granted, I have 800 in the rear of my Supra SE, but that massive pig doesn't even know it's there. A child can operate it safely when it's slammed.
Really none of my business or am I adding anything to the discussion....I apologize. But holy Toledo that seems kinda scary?

Not scary at all.... Let's make sure everyone gets the correct picture...... before being scared about the weight.
First. .
Lets talk supra which we also carry and sell. Standard ballast is 3500lbs.... Rzx2 is 2700. For those math nerds thats a net difference of 800lbs.. Guess where that diff between the two is mostly located? You guessed it, the bow.
The Rzx 2 has massive rear bags and only 500 total up front officially (I actually think its more like 350-400) So in all reality what are we so scared about?
For example I run 1K in the belly 400/200 offset because of the big prop and I run 300 in the bow underneath the bags. The only reason I am doing this is because I am also running close to 1170 in PNP in the rear.
Stick 3500 lbs directly in the rear of most any boat and its going to need close to that 1k plus or minus in the bow. We arent talking about anything extreme here..... The boat is built with less bow weight because you can surf it without the PNP and its awesome.... When you start running obscene weight, you have to get creative, but the boat isnt scary to drive. Brad is referencing when we tried running 1k directly in the nose in chop. Yeah its a little much then......
this 22 foot boat can hang with the 23-25 foot boats... there is some tradeoff weight wise to get it to do big boat things. A foot difference means the whole shifting point of the boat changes.... for example. The belly of the boat or where the cockpit is, is technically forward in the hull. I sat outside the boat and really looked at the centerline etc before my last time out. After brainstorming, looking underneath the hull inside the compartments etc I decided to run most if not all of my weight there. Boat sits close to level when empty and level when loaded.
The boat is also crazy high out of the water still, meaning I havent even began to squat the thing yet. I just havent had the time to really play with it. The fact that the swimstep is still above the water is disappointing to be quite honest.....

I just like Tige Dakota, I think Supra is a fantastic product, and undoubtedly an SE would be my choice if I didnt love Tige. They own that title by a long shot. I just know Supra, heck any brand doesent have a 22 foot boat that can do what this Rzx2 does, its not perfect but what it can do given its size is really something special. I like to have a boat that can go empty and still haul *** around the lake and feel like a sports car... well thats not accurate.. I guess I should say "not feel like a barge" yet surf and wakeboard like the big boys. I like what I can get out of this 22 vs what I get out of the 25 in an SE.

Word. I live by the old saying "you never say 'this boat is too big' on the water, only when it's on a trailer in your driveway" and since I don't trailer the boat, I have the barge!
Well and I have 4 kids. There's that.

Elevated can you be more specific with the location of the front weight. A picture is worth 1000 words. I ordered the pnp bags from wakemakers. I have 500lbs of lead bags just curious as where you stashed them all?
I would stick 200 under the bow seats. And I would fill the rear PNP ags to 60% or so. Wave will be money. Thats it, so away with all the crazy weight. That setup will get you a nice big clean wave.

I just got my 2018 RZX2 on the water for the first time on Sunday, and did very little surfing but I couldn't get the wake to clean-up with stock ballast. SO I went ahead and ordered the PNP bags and should be here later this week. This is my first Tige boat and I know very little of the TAPS system. Can anyone help out a newbie on where to start on how much ballast needs to go where for regular surf side and where to start with the TAPS? I don't really want to run lead but if it makes a huge difference I might consider.
