@Cek1 & @18c Racing I'm thinking of adding the Wakemaker 560lbs bags to my '17 RZX2. Thought I would resurrect this thread to see how you like them, what additional lead/steel if any and where, and what ballast and Taps settings you have found to be the best with your set up.

Currently the Wakemaker bags are on back order until the end of August. Hoping to get some PnP in time for Labor Day. Can't find any reviews on them.

I'm still messing with them. I have the wakemakers plug and play as well as 200 lbs of lead in each corner. Nice wave but still needs work. I think with that much weight you need more in the bow. I just received 500 lbs of lead to mess with. Not a huge fan of lead because it's always there but it will at least give me something to move around while in the boat. I seem to be around 4 & 4 on settings always messing with that though.

Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking of using 200 lbs in the bow since it helps for slalom skiing anyway. I don't plan to add any more weight other than the PnP in the lockers. Does seem to take some time to dial it in, and crew size is always a factor. In general I was always thinking of having 100% ballast on surf side and 80% on non. Means some extra time between regular to goofy surfers, but seems to clean up the wave the best.

What have you found to be the sweetspot for speed or are you still dialing that in, too?

Last questions: overall are you happy with the wakemaker bags? Did you reinforce the engine compartment dividers?

With taps 3 you'll want the boat evenly weighted.

We are on a river mostly so the speed varies depending on the current but 11.2 seems to be pretty consistent. The bags are not very big so I haven't seen a need to reinforce the deviders. One thing I don't like is the adapters should be quite a bit longer. Only because the hoses on the boat aren't the same length. I actually had to make a longer one for my port side bag because Tige had it too short coming out of the floor. You will most likely weight the boat evenly. There really isn't any advantage to trying to list the boat. I would fill them and use people to move weight around in the boat to see what the outcome is. Overall I'm happy with the bags.

Thanks for the feedback Cek1. I ordered the bags. They are on back order, but should have within two weeks to test.

I'm running stock ballast full all the way around with 400in lead in bow and 300 in lead in each rear locker and no pnp bags and the wave is awesome. I had pnp bags and I like it better with the lead and you still have your storage.IMG_1085.jpg

Here a pic from a while back and there's no ballast in the boat filled with 1,000 lbs of people IMG_5641.jpg

I have been waiting till I have spend some time on an RZX2 before I chimed it. Here is what I have learned about the RZX2:

                    1. BOW WEIGHT- LOTS OF BOW WEIGHT! This is anti everything I have ever done but the RZX2 does not like the rear slammed with a big bow high ride. The boat i have spent time on has 500lbs factory bow, plus an additional 1000lbs in lead and it could probably use another 200lbs.
                    2. SURF PLATES- 1-3 Goofy Side w/ 2-5 Regular side. TAPS2 really depends on your bow weight, just don't use TAPS2@1 or 8 its a mess at the extremes.
                    3. PNP SYSTEM- Start with Factory Sub Floor ONLY and tune it there, then add 25-50-75-100% to PnP and tune at each point.
                    4. POWER- Be gentle with bringing the power in otherwise it will just jack the bow in the air and will plow. Bring the power in easy and let the hull and plates work.
                    5. LENCO RECALL- If your having mass issues dialing in the wave pull up your diagnostics screen and see if you have any faults on the actuators. Usually will say "OVER/UNDER Current" This is the start of water intrusion. Plate position is obviously important and if the plate isn't moving or not going into a pre-set position that's again all bad. Give your dealer a call and get a new set of LENCOs sent out to you.

The RZX2 is a bad motha, great great great boat overall. The wave is incredible, but does take some time to understand what inputs it wants to be perfect. I have about 10-15 hours in a 18' now and will get some more as the season moves forward. Our biggest challenge and ah ha moment was finding out the actuators were the main issue of not being able to dial it in faster.
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

The 2 doesent like bow weight over the nose like the Rzx3. If you arent stacking it just past midship you are shooting yourself in the foot for two reasons.

The boat will sit too low and be nearly impossible to operate without taking water over the nose, You need to pull the boat apart and stack it in those hard to reach places in-order for it to be lights out.

This boat surfs better with speed. 12Mph minimum.

Not the most clear picture but this cat is over 6 feet tall and by no means a small dude. Hes half up the wave. This give you a good idea of the thickness and size of what the hull is doing...
