Okay all I'm committed! With some input from Mike and Brad I mocked up my thru-hull locations and got all of my fill and drain/vent holes drilled tonight. I used my dremel tool to bevel the edges but ran out of daylight and was not able to get any of the components permanently installed. So far so good though.

Looking very good. You will be so happy when you are finished and you flip the switches to fill.

This project was one of the most fun and rewarding I ever did in my 24ve.

Keep us posted and the pics coming.

The pump on the port side of the T looks like its outlet is a little down from the body. This could trap air. May just be the perspective of the pic, just check that.

Also, if hose routing is easier, its ok to pair the bow pump and a rear pump on the T. The bow bump hose will go across the top of the tank so a clean exit from the pump is a must.

The scary part is over!!! Now the fun part begins of sealing everything up. Everything looks super clean so far keep it up.

where did you decide to mount the switches?
My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

Thanks guys! I haven't really looked into the switches yet. I am open to location ideas. I don't have very much room on the actual dash from what I can see and all of the factory switches are in use.

Post a couple pics of your dash so we can give you ideas. Also a lot of people put switches on the side by the throttle. If you look behind that panel you'll probably see a spot that tige cuts out I'm assuming for factory ballast switches. Coming along nicely!

Got the thru-hulls sealed in this evening and got my pumps installed. I changed to 90 degree elbows to get everything running up hill and also helped give me more clearance. Everything feels solid and I am excited to see how locked in everything is in the morning. I did run into a couple of problems though.

                1) Note to self - cut a larger hole in the tip of the sealant cap. I squeezed on it and the tube split in the back (like popping a bag of chips). What a mess.
                2) One of my ball vales would not thread on with the ball valve handle installed (hitting the v-drive). I totally did not account for this. I removed the handle, threaded the valve on tight and then with a dab of lock tight I put the lever back on. All good but I know I am very lucky!

Does the pump closest to the fuel tank on the two pump manifold look okay? It is straight up and I have clearance with the floor and seat. I believe this is still at or below the water line so I think I should be fine?

I also laid out all of my plumbing and made notes on where I want to run my hoses. I can tell running the fill hose to the bow is going to be tough along with installing the port side drain pump. My battery's look to be in the way and I have no idea how (or if I want to take on) moving the batteries and fuzes. I know this has been discussed previously on the site but I am not able to find the thread. Does anyone have any tips on the port side drain pump and/or moving the batteries?

Guys, here is some photos of my dash and helm area. I'm thinking the switches need to go by the throttle?

How high above the carpet floor is that one pump? The boat floor is pretty much the water line.

I'd put the switches right above your storage net.
Re: Moving your battery, I turned mine so the long side was front to back instead of side to side. I was able to fit two on the port side and a third on the starboard side by moving the taps pump over a tad. I'm not sure how much room you have back there though as I'm not familiar with the layout on the 24V.

Mike, the majority of the pump is below the floor. Only the grey vent at the top of the pump looks to be sticking up above the carpet. I think I might push it down at an angle to be safe though.

Thanks for the input. I agree with the switches. I believe my battery's are already running front to back like your photo but there isn't as much room between them. I will take a closer look and post a photo. Perhaps there is room to spread them out.

                            Word of caution:

Running your batteries backward like yours on the left can cause weird things to happen. If it's your cranking battery it can make your engine run backwards. If it's your radio battery it can make your songs play backwards. I'm guessing this was your plan all along and that you are a country fan and trying to get either your dog, truck, or boat back from her.

If its country, you git yur dowg, truck and double wide back

Hahaha y'all are hilarious. Nothing but classic rock and reggae on my boat.

Quick question... what tool do you guys use to cut the opening for the switches? I need to cut the vinyl fabric and and backer in order to install the switches near the throttle. Would a dremel tool with a cut off wheel work or would that tear up the vinyl?
