    What to do? ballast upgrade

Over the winter here I'm going to plumb in my starboard side sac. My port side has a MLA sac that I have plumbed in for dual fill/empty on Tsunami pumps independent of the existing hard tanks which are still on the OEM pumps. I very rarely ever fill my starboard side as pretty much all of my friends including me are regular footed. Only my wife and my friends wife are goofy and neither one gets out on my boat very often. Wife only because we have youngins.

My options as I see them are to A) Run a manifold off the existing to either run a single or dual again to the new sac which btw is only around 800-900 full as it's not an MLA sac. It's one of the Wakemaker sacs I got from another member. I find the starboard side doesn't need near the same amount of weight as the port so it hasn't been an issue. If anything I find the starboard side to be much cleaner. Or B) Put another hole in the bottom of the boat (which I have no problem doing) if I can find space. With running listed I'm truthfully fine with the manifold idea and it's probably the easiest way out. With everyone raving about the suckgates and such I apparently need to make a better effort next year to try one again which means I'd like to fill both sides at the same time if I'm going to be doing this more often. I personally have no issue running listed but sometimes it would be nice to not have to direct everyone where to sit as much.

I know this probably could be argued either way and it probably all does come down to personal preference but I'd thought I would throw it out there for other opinions. I'd be doing it all myself and I don't really care about the costs so that doesn't make a difference in my decision. These are just the types of things that can stop me from falling asleep sometimes.lol.

    1) We need to fit that coil reinforced ballast hose to pump outlets and eliminate that home depot threaded hose and all those clamps.

    2) Rework the fittings on one of those t-hull shrooms and put a T on it. Leave one of the port side pumps on it and install a 2nd pump for the starboard sac.

If you wanted the STBD sac to fill fast like the port, you could do dual pumps and just add a T to the other t-hull shroom.

Next, lets talk about those ball valves. Are they bronze marine valves or brass residential valves from the hardware store? Id hate for one to deteriorate from the inside out and then fail when its needed the most.

The drain and vent for the STBD sac would just mimic the port side.

Thanks Mike. The hose's have been redone already (old photo) and as far as the shut off's I didn't ever really know or pay attention that one was Brass and the other Bronze. I guess I'll have to look at swapping those parts out.
