Going to change the angle on the shaper.
Going ropeless is more about technique than it is the wave. I went ropeless behind my RZ2 with 2 5 gallon buckets filled with water as my only ballast.

Joe, did you figure out your wave? I have a on '08 RZ4 color scheme looks similar to yours from the looks of your vinyl..

I am running a Fly High Pro X (#1400 lbs.) in my rear port locker, a #400 lbs. sack in my starboard locker and a 400 sack in the front walkthrough area (usually 8 ppl in the boat). I also have a homemade wake shaper that attaches with Velcro and have 0 issues of it coming off while surfing.

What made the biggest difference was when I took the POS swim platform off. I did this 2 weeks ago and made a one out of 1" ply until I can either cut mine down or buy a sheet of HDPE and make one. MY wave is GREAT now. I have a friend that has a Malibu 25 lsv and my wake now every bit as big as his.

That line in your wave looks like the deck cutting into the wave. I cut mine but I have an RZ2 and it did the same thing really messed up the wave. Not sure what most RZ4 owners do. You may get away with spacing it up so it is higher and out the of the water.

Cut your deck. Can be done way cheaper than buying a new one. There's a couple threads on here of people doing that to those rz2-4 decks. Take as much off the sides and corners as you can, glass it over and also fill in the lip on the underside with fiberglass so it's a smooth transition. Make it look pretty and your good to go!

Not my project but you get the idea. I'd round off the point in the middle if it was me. More pleasing to my eyes.

That looks like a good job on the swim deck, I haven't seen that one before.

Hey , I have exactly the same boat. I have a 1200 on surf side in rear locker, no other ballast, taps at 3.5 and speed at 11.2. I am 6' 3" and 210 lbs. I make everyone sit on the surf side and as far back as possible. When the rub rail get to water level you know it's correct. I found a 2010 platform and re drilled it to fit my 08 and that one thing cleaned my wave up. I have a killer wave but I am listed quite a bit. Bow weight kills your wave! Opposite side weight kills your wave. Wake 9 gave me that set up and once I did what he said, we were off and running. Download a speed app on your phone to find the 11.2. Also faster makes longer and lower wave, slower makes taller and shorter.

@Kaase12... Did you remove the carpeted walls to acheive 1400lbs in an RZ4 rear locker? I'd love to be able to do the same but am at a loss as to how you accomplished this as the dimensions of the locker only allow for a bag weighing just over 700lbs. Maybe you're just using the bag but not to it's capacity?

Get with chpthril, you can get a custom bag that will net you 1100-1200 lbs in that hull but it will take up every bit of storage you have.

I have the stock 250 plus about 750 more on each side. I fill everything and use a Ronix wedge. I am 6'1" and 250 lbs, I can have people sitting just about anywhere and get a good enough wave for me.

Las weekend we took the wedge off to see if we could get enough push to surf both sides at once...

My cousin and I were able to surf together (he is 6"3, 195) as long as we stayed fairly close to the boat. I could even move around quite a bit.

Joeg, I made some real progress with the wave this weekend. I moved the delta up above the lip wich made it stop washing out so bad, and left the front empty. Filled rear surf side to 100% (stock 250 plus 1100 lb jumbos as much as they can fill) i then let my non surf side empty for 2 minutes (based on my calculations about 250 lbs) taps at 6. Regular side i could run at 11.2, but goofy side did not have enough push at that speed. I dropped to 10.4 goofy side and push was great. I went ropeless as long as I wanted goofy side and i am 6'5" 285 lbs. I figure if i can ride it anyone can.
