    2006 24VE MAX Ballast Wakeboarding

Have owned the boat for two years now and Can not get quite happy with the wakeboard Wake.
I am strictly worried about wakeboarding only. I want the Max Ballast set-up I can run without having a white water lip.
If someone has done this or has advice please let me know. I have messeed around with different amounts of ballast quite a bit.

I get the wash pretty easily. It's a tough hull for that. I did a lot of bow weight and not a lot of rear and the magic mph is 24 for mine. Which is fast.

Yep, this boat likes about a 60/40 front rear split and like any wake board boat, the more weight your add, the faster you gotta go. ive heard some ride at 28 just to get the wake. Chit, I dont slalom that fast

I have the same boat, 1500 in the rear, 750 pounds in the front. Move 3 to 4 people into the bow if you can and the wake won't wash at all. I ride about 24.5 or 25mph depending on how many people are in the boat. Wake is very touchy side to side so you are going to have to move people around so it doesn't wash on either side.

How many of you are checking your speeds against a GPS. I set mine up for wakeboarding last season and set on 24 based on my speedo only to find out that I was only doing about 22 off the GPS. Come to find out I was indicating 28 on my speedo but GPS said 24, so just a heads up if you are using the roller speedo's bump it against a phone or gps to verify speed.

I have an 05 24V and I too primarily wakeboard. I went out last weekend to test fat sacs that I just bought. I put 400 lbs in each locker and a 750 lb sac on the front seat in the bow. I know that is not a whole lot of weight compared to some set up's but the wake was noticeably larger than with no weight and I was able to play with Taps to make the the transition more mellow or more steep. I was able to go as slow as 21.5 mph per my Zero Off and the wake didn't wash out. I seemed to like the wake best with the taps at 5.

+1 for having to move bodies side to side to clean up the weight.

I know right.....good thing I had Ewok in the boat, to be honest this sounds dumb now but I had never actually considered my speedo to be off by that much I figured 1 maybe 2 mph but not 4+.

We upgraded to and aftermarket GPS speed control. Went with the hydrophase unit. However with 3-4 people I run 3/4 full 540's in the rear, and a 800 in walkway. No this is not sacked out by any means, I have a good wake 8/10 times for the first hour of boarding until other buddies show up. As soon as 2-3 of them get on the boat, wake goes to complete crap. I get so pissed off that we end up just dumping all ballast. I wish I knew where to go with the weight. Considering adding the integrated bow sac as well. That should be plenty of weight with the 800 up front as well? I tried putting about 350# of lead up front. But didn't like loading Dumbbells into the boat every trip

I would like to see 2500+lbs of ballast in this boat, but I can't even get 1300 to look good. And I run everywhere from 23-26

If you are serious about wakeboarding, sell the Tige and get a ski nautique, mastercaft or malibu. The 2003-2008 hulls are great and rampy and can take tons of weight. The 24ve will never be as good. Lucky for you that the 24ve would sell easy to someone looking to surf.

I would run your TAPS 2-3 at the most if you are adding weight above "stock" ballast(900lbs. for that year). We would run "stock" ballast plus a 500 lb. on the floor against the back seat pedestal and a 500 lb. in the walkway. TAPS 2 and speed 24-24. Wake was always money! Everyone LOVED it!

This is from Table rock years ago. We had ballast full (2250lbs) and 10 people in the boat. 4 in the bow the rest in the back. Wake is hard to keep clean with that much weight but its possible. I ride about 24.5 to 25mph. This is the biggest I've ever had the wake besides 1 time at LOZ when I added a big bag to the walkway to the bow. Don't have any pictures of that though!

Looks good to me... 24ve was always solid, just had to bump the speed up and keep the TAPS at a low number. We didn't worry about what the speedo/cruise was saying, we just set it where the wake was gooooood... Weinaker always had his 24VE set up good as well.
