How to make wake surf wave longer. 24v

Sounds like he has the weight just positioning it better, I have the 24Ve' and here is my setup (people depending)
Enzo surf side locker, with 400lbs up front in the center as far forward as possible. I run 12.0 to 12.3 and for surf style with a rampy face TAPS 2-3 for skim style Taps at 5 but no more its almost vertical and curls way to soon beyond that. This weight was also with 10 people in the boat.
Empty boat 2 people plus surfer, same setup but I throw another 400 on the floor behind the driver and another 400 horizontal across the back seat into the surf corner and its pretty good. Same speed and TAPSMy life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

That's not backwards Dakota, generally speaking, with all things being equal, a higher TAPS setting will make the wave higher, steeper and shorter; a lower TAPS setting will make the wave lower, with a more gradual face, and a longer pocket.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

not a 24v but have a 22ve, taps 3-5, usually 3 as the wave doesn't curl as fast then, speed 11-12 for me closer to 12 makes wave easily 5 ft longer, I can tell that easy because of where I am on the rope, at 12 I just throw my rope no need to pull in any at all. I run mike's custom sac 1200lbs in locker, 400lbs on port side rear bench, full in front 400lbs roughly, this good with just the wife driving and 2 small kids, add a couple more adults in front of the sac and gets better, still trying to figure out offside weight as seems to mess up the face of the wave. hopefully this will help point in right direction

My 'big as* 24 V wave set up>
rear lockers> Custom Duffy' Sacs ( like close to 1800 if you got them FULL)
mid lockers> Under the consoles I had 250 +150 brick so 400 total
bow>250 on each side plus a 150 brick we moved side to side. 400 total. I never filled both bow sacs..just the surf side. my boat didn't like ANY WEIGHT ON THE OFF SIDE! NONE! Not even a puppy.
swim step> 2 150 bricks tied to the grab handle
1 150 brick on the floor also moved side to side along the back seat
all this added up to a big long as* goofy wave ('im goofy too)

I did...but to a good freind. she also is subletting my mooring and dingy so I still can go out on it.
Not so much this summer as I've been down in baja since Jun 28th surfing real waves. Hopefully when I get back October 14th she'll still have the boat on the lake

For a LONG wave on the 24V, speed really makes a difference. Look at the curl, if you bump it up to 12 ish the curl clears out and the wave gets dramatically longer. Surprisingly, you lose very little push at that speed if you have enough weight. Airs also get MUCH easier at 12 BUT you have less time if you fall out of the pocket to find it again. For me 12-12.5 can be really fun on a 24 with a fast board.
Bow weight helps some but it the speed that clears out the curl from grabbing your feet.
I am with you Duffy. I know 250 lbs of lead weighs the same as 150 lbs of water BUT it sure seems to make a bigger impact that filling a 150 lb sac. I am so jealous of anyone weighing what an average man does. 180 would be sweet. I gotta have everything perfect and/or surf on a bedroom door to explore that very back of the wave!

At 11.7 I was ASTOUNDED. The wave firmed up noticeably and the speed created a new push that hadn't felt quite yet. Even that skimmer allowed the pocket to be 15' back easily. And, pumping back in became so much more "productive" I would describe it as. Just small quick pumps climbed right back in. It was an epihany!
I really wish I had the WP Bazooka out there too--I might have smashed into the transom.
That's a lot do sacs on seats, but small crew. I could easily have 1000# in crew with buddies and nix the seat sacs.
It was unreal. Thanks for insisting on speed. It was the X factor. I also studied how my factory fiberglass swim deck sliced into the wave. Will trim this winter FOR SURE.

First off congrats on cleaning up your wave, glad we were all able to help. I run 12.3 and its an awesome wave, and yes with a small crew its a lot of work with filling everything, but the 24Ve's need a lot of weight but I am always surprised at how well they handle the weight I have run 3K+ in ballast with a small crew and never felt like I was being "unsafe". I am a big guy too 6'4" 220 and finding the right board took a while, I ride the Ronix Parks Carbon Thruster 5.1 and its PLENTY of board, but still agile enough for airs and spins as well as a great fast board for beginners that have problems finding the pocket. I would look at the Duffy Flap Mod before you cut your swipstep, I had the same problem and the flap fixed the problem for me and didn't have to cut anything. Just another option, my better half would have killed me if I cut my swimstep.My life's journey is not ending up looking pretty, its sliding in broadside, used up, worn out, screaming "What a Ride"

I already feature a sweet Duffy Surf Flap mod--really quieted down my FAE spray. I was more observing how deeply the surf side platform is buried into the water at the weight I was running. It sure seemed like it has to be affecting that water's ability to come rushing back in after passing by the back of the hull. This was at yesterday's overall ballast weight of approximately 3400-3500#. We were DEFINITELY slammed. I also felt pretty safe--the lake was calm enough to not worry me too much.
Perhaps it would not help, it just seemed to be a fairly big barrier to what the water was wanting to do. If the plaform were 4" more narrow from each corner it seemed like a lot of the interference would disappear. Some testing definitely in order.
I have to take it easy on boards for now--I have some great ones. My Walker Project Bazooka is a rocket ship. I think with the new wave I can take it back into the curl pretty easily.
