    24V Under Bow Floor Ballast?

Somewhere I've read, and can't find it now, a thread that mentioned the possibility of putting bow ballast under the floor in front of the gas tank. Has anyone actually tried this? That space was of interest to me and noticed while replacing a steering cable. I didn't really look around too much at the time as I had to get things buttoned back up but my impression was that there was a lot of empty space there. Older Supra's had a huge bag that they put in approximately the same location. One could cut a circular port into the walkway floor for installation and maintenance access.

    Thoughts?

I believe Duffy was told NOT to do it by Tige but hopefully he will chime in with the details.

I was told not to do it as well from my dealer in Denver. I also have a 24v, why not just run either the single bigger sac or 2 seperate sacs up front?

I've actually been planning on the 2 front sacs, I just can't help but wonder. The Supra bag was like 1800 lbs if I remember right. My MC also had the KGB tank right there too and while I don't know how much it held, filling it made a huge difference in the wakeboard wake. Not so much for surfing.

Given dealer's recommendation not to do it, I definitely wouldn't be the first to try it, but it someone else had? I would be interested in talking with them. That being said, most dealers won't do anything the factory hasn't done already anyway. They are not in the business of experimentation. My desire to experiment also has limits based on the fact that my family's safety depends on this boat not breaking in half when I cross another wake.

pull the bilge vent hose from its hole in the floor and reach in. You will feel where the bilge cavity ends not much in front of the fuel tank.

What is your goal? I rock dual bow ballast and 100# of lead, in the nose. I have never needed more, with small crews I only fill surf side bow. I gave up on that idea years ago

Good question. The goal is to put this ballast system in and use it without wondering or regretting doing something different.

I'm planning on putting my current 400# v-drive bags into the front compartments. They don't fit perfectly but they definitely aren't too small. Enzo back port and 1100# in the back starboard.

Do vdrive sacs in the front, then do customs in the back, talk with chpthril and get them ordered. They are way more important in the grand scheme of things.
