Very cool! I have an 07 24Ve and it needs ballast bad. No factory installed ballast and I've been putting off purchasing a few bags to use (lack of $). Mostly I use human ballast, but the wave is pretty pathetic when its just my family out there. I like the hard tanks in the back. I might have to look into those...

I am now finished with round one of ballast modification having completed both the port and starboard locker enlargement projects. They turned out well and the custom sacs (#1100) from Mike at Mikes Liquid Audio fit well and the surf wave is sweet. When we don't have 5 or 6 people on board we use extra ballast in the bow (#300) and extra ballast in the surf side rear seat corner (up to #1100 depending on people ballast). Without extra people or ballast, the surf wave is moderately ok, not excellent like it is with the extra weight. The only downside to our ballast is the manual fill part. We are going to solve that with an automated ballast install from Mike, likely using aerators.

I am #210, my daughter is #40 and I am on a 4'8" Doomswell Neo (very sweet surf style board btw). The wave has lots of push and a big sweet spot so we have lots of room to move back and forth on the wave...very happy.
