I know some pros that have surfed the mojo weighted with the flow and were super impressed. Also some of the owners videos are great-amazing. This is the same concept as the NSS and the swell and , just manual. I have no interest in switchin back and forth while surfing. I'm sure some people do. Just not me.

I just like how simple the design is. Tige's rear transoms are pretty busy and it wouldn't be as easy to do the malibu gate system. I honestly think it would be hard for me to squeeze it in there. But not impossible.

Wave shape will be more hull design then from the flow. So the wave would look different on our boats with the same device.

I saw this comparative review the other day and still wonder what will work best with the 24V hull.

I'm planning on adding the extra tapped holes for some potential experimentation. Once the backing plate is secured to the hull, it can serve as a good starting point for evaluating variants of almost any of the surf system types. In a manual way of course. I'm like you in that I have no desire to quickly switch from one side to the other so fully automating some type of system on both sides just doesn't matter to me. As far as I know right now of course

I think all should work about the same way. I have a theory that malibu's might lengthen the wave by dog legging at the same time as pushing the nose slightly down.

Here is a mondo dialed in a bit. Not running a lot of weight, so the wave is probably too slow for me. If I fill everything and all my lead would be 5k in ballast

Okay, I watched the videos. What is the 10 second stated advantage or function of a wave enhancement system? No listing? Even ballasting?

Isn't supra swell a robust trim plate on each side of the boat? To me, that's a lot different than the NSS (which to me the NSS is similar concept to flow). I think of it as three concepts (NSS-style where the device is parallel to the transom, Gate-style where the device is parallel or slightly angled to the side of the boat, and Trim-style where the device is parallel or angled to the bottom of the boat), all creating delayed convergence of the wave behind the boat.

I agree that they seem to be three different systems all with delayed convergence as the goal. The one exception may be the Mastercraft system at least as it it is described by Zane Schwenk. It looks just like the swell system as far as I can see, but he described it as the surf side tab pushing the water down and under the opposite side that is trimmed to allow the displaced water to push up and over the stream coming from the surf side. In that case it isn't delayed convergence but is actually a different fundamental thing going on in the wake. Is that really the case? I haven't been on a new MC with the gen 2 system and we just leaned my old X30 for surfing (It had a better wave than my 24V by the way. I should have kept it). Part of my day job keeps me in the IP business and one of the things that you often see is that a design will have very similar features and results, but the method by how they work is described differently. This is often done to simply prevent legal battles. The MC attorney simply claims their system works entirely different than the others so there is no infringement. That being said, MC had the 1st implemented "surf system" that I know of and it didn't work well from what I've heard. If they have IP on that system, (I haven't looked) they may have pushed everyone else into talking about "delayed convergence" to have an non-infringing play in the market. It would be interesting to know if all of these systems were actually carefully engineered to match the characteristics of their hulls and the device and method they chose is optimal in that respect, or if they simply did anything that they could within the IP constraints to create a controllable asymmetry of flow around the hull and then got back to the important and profitable work of automating it and making it look really cool on the touch-screen control system.

I believe the swell looks like tabs, but when fully ended they flip over and cause delayed convergence. What year x30? Some of those boats are huge and if you had enough weight I can imagine a great wave. I still have never been on a boat with a better wave then my 24v. But I haven't been even close to all boats.

I think most of the systems are an afterthought. I could be wrong.

For an epic wave I run 2750-3000 in ballast in my 24v. Then I need 3-5 friends.

Duffy, I could be wrong but for the surf style steep wave you like, the swell deploys on the surf side emulating a list when the surf side corner in deeper in the water.

Edit: I was referring to supra swell above

Yep, I am totally wrong. It's a listing tab system.

Duffy, I think it still rides level but the tab extends the hull down digging a deeper hole. Its still rides flat I think. I think the opposite side does some delayed convergence type of thing.

                        1:35-1:40 implies no list.

It's so hard to tell, my brain says it would have to deploy on the opposite side. But I am not an engineer.

I bet we can find out more on it from the polar event.

Interesting stuff. So at 30% opposite it's causing list. Then the side you are surfing is fully deployed. Such a goofy idea, but I like it because it's so different

Wow, that changed my understanding of systems. Who would have thought a plate straight down on surf side would amplify the vertical wall. Must shorten the pocket though?

In a few years when all this gets worked out, there are gonna be some awesome boats and waves.
