    Ballast hose size

What is the ballast hose size on the 2014's? My 13 still had the 800's(pumps) with 3/4 hose. I know late 2013 and all 14's now have 1200's(pumps) with either 1" or 1 1/8". I'm starting to put my shopping list together for ballast system and wasn't sure what size hose and fittings I need.

I am pretty sure it is 1.125" as this is what was on our mid season 2013 build.

Thanks guys. Mike I am putting my list together. Going to be pretty similar to my order last year, just with 1.125 hose and fittings instead of the .75. Do you still have the same email?

so I have a 2014 z3 and I am in the process of putting aftermarket bags in. My problem is my bottom hoses, my dealer put cuts in them to get the stock bags out. I want to fix this. The easiest way for me is to put a barbed fitting in and extend the hose. What size hose should I order and barb fitting? Do I order 1 1/8th? or 1"? Does anyone make that size barb fitting?

Was the upper vent and fill lines or the lower 2 drain lines that they cut?

I know its tot late for you, but for others, all they need to do is carefully cut away the heat shrink and then remove the clamp. break the hose's grip on the barbed fitting and remove the fitting.

Repeat on the other 3 OEM connections

insert the new W746 (supplied with my sacs) into the hose, install new clamp (also supplied).

Install W743 into the 4 threaded ports and plug the new sac in.

If you have my custom sac or the very recent W004/W005 Fly High Tige sac, there are extra threaded ports that need a W731 put into.

                Mike

All the uppers are fine. It's the ones below the floor they cut. Those lines are so short I might have to add hose to it once I cut off the area they slit. It's like about am inch. So I wanted to know what size ballast hose to buy. I also need to extend 2 of the vent lines up top to work. I have wake 9 sacs. I will also need a hose barbs for the extension of the bottom lines

They are short section anyway, so I would pull the floor up and just replace the entire piece, like 10-12 inches, as opposed to extending it with a hose barb splice.

Isn't it a lot of work to pull the floor??? Like a lot of stuff to remove?

What size hose would I need? 1 inch? Or 1 1/8th?

Yes, it will be a little work to gain access, but worth it as opposed to restricting the drain flow due to a barbed splicer. I am not sure what size hose they are using for those sac to tank drains. They were .75" originally, but do not know if they have been upgraded along with other ballast hose as it has been on the new models. If it has been upgraded to 1" 1.125", then I suppose a barbed splicer wont be any slower then what it was with the original roll out of .75" hose.

Well pulled the floor and got the issue resolved. Now I just need to know what hose size to buy.

                            Look above..we decided it was 1 1/8(1.125).

if in doubt, whats the ID of the hose thats cut? We can nail it down with that.
