    Draining Sacs Questions

I just had my new to me 09 22ve out on the water yesterday for the first time and set the boat up for a surf. The boat has the V shaped 400lb in the bow and 2-400lbs sacs in the rear on top of the 250 hard tanks. When it came to emptying the bags I noticed they would stop pumping water once in a while even if I tried to push on the bag or hold it up to force the water to the drain port. In a couple cases because the boat was listed I had my friends move to the other side to help level the boat out at which point they would start to drain again. Just wasn't sure what my expectation should be for completely emptying the sacs? My old boat I had them on either side of my dog house so I could just pick them up and drain them over the side. My other questions was how do I now if the hard tanks are actually empty besides water stops coming out? I trailer so having every bit of water out helps on the weight.

Otherwise it was great to be behind a boat that can actually throw a nice big wave. I still have to play around with it but being the water was 49deg I just wanted to get out and try it. I ran full port side 250/400 locker, 400 on seats, 200lbs steel plates under seats, and filled the front 400 bow sac, friend sitting on rear locker, ran at 10.6mph with taps at 2. I'm 225lbs and was riding a inland surfer red tide. I also tried my older Hyperlite broadcast 5'4 but I didn't stay in the pocket long before I got pushed out and with the water being so cold and my feet going numb I just grabbed the inland board back.

Thats it in a nut shell

Sounds like those 400 lb sacs are just piggy-backed into the stock ballast. These system are always problematic. It sounds like the drain pump is outrunning the flow from the sac into the hard tank. I would suggest pulling up the floor over the hard tank and get a look at how the sac is plumbed into the drain plumbing.

      I figured as much Chpthril.lol.

They are piggybacked currently. I am already contemplating running new pumps and lines as I would like to upgrade to 900-1100's at some point.
