does anyone know if the johnson reversible pumps can be turned around to change the flow of water without changing the current mount position that is? the install directions aren't too clear but they state the pump body can be turned 180deg in order to change the direction of flow. reason I ask is one of my motors is filling/draining in the opposite direction as I'd like it to. I was thinking about changing the wiring on switch, or even trying to move the pump around so the inlet was on the raw water side, but am limited on space. Or does the impellor need turned around? I didnt want to tear into this motor and mess things up so was hoping someone has had this same issue and what you did to change it.

trust me, leave the pump intact. If rotating the switch body is not feasible, cut the 2 wires at the pump and swap them. Pump wont care and it will now run opposite from what it did before.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

believe me i trust you taking the switches apart was a big enough mess. Does make a person wonder why the manual would say that, but then again it doesn't go into detail on how to do the procedure. Maybe that's their way of selling more pumps when they get tore down and not put back together properly!!

3 switches with labels

Bottom bilge thru holes with hoses connected. I put a secondary bilge in between them and the fuel tank will get pics later

Front V sac vent hole

Rear port side bag stainless vent thru hull. It is the one on the right in the pic and is a bit smaller than the factory bilge thru hole but hope most ppl won't notice such a small thing

Great job on the installation - I am sure you are going to love it. I really like the boat colors.I think the flow could be reversed by removing the impeller housing and rotating it 180 degrees so the hoses connect to the opposite fitting. Sorry it is a bit late huh?
thanks for this thread, it is well done and shows great detail.

Thanks MLS I decided to flip the switch around as i didn't have any info or schematic of the pump and if chpthril says NO on that idea than NO is NO!! I took the extra time to tidy things up and plan the routing and placement of things before drilling, cutting or mounting anything and it obviously has paid off in the neatness of the install.

I also wanted to add that while testing my ballast and running the engine in my garage with my water plunger attachment that i noticed water in the bilge area of my boat. I was constantly having issues last season with the boat taking on a lot of water and for the life of me couldn't figure out where. I was starting to think it was the prop shaft seal and was scared as they are pricey and a pain to change out. Luckily though while testing I saw 3 little holes where the main raw water thru hole inlet is were allowing water into the bilge area. It appears that they have been there since the boat was mfg. It looks as if the original screws to hold the strainer were too long and punctured through the bottom bilge area and were not caulked around so in the small amount of time i was testing i had a pretty decent amount of water in bilge area. I removed the screws put marine sealant around them and sealed top with sealant in hopes this is the only area on bottom of boat allowing water in.

Pic of V sac full
IMG_1364.jpg
Rear locker 1100lb sac still have room for a bigger or custom sac
IMG_1365.jpg
Wake with front V sac and rear side locker filled completely. Taps around 3-4 and speed around 10.2-12mph Wave is larger than pic shows it to be. Going into 30mph wind. Don't have any pics yet but when my wife and me would sit on the weighted side of boat the extra 300ish lbs would make a huge difference in wake and would still be extremely clean with little wash and a deep pocket.

didn't try without bow weight yet as was storm came in on us and were limited on time out for our first trip this season. Will play with setting a little more when weather and water temp improves. Would like to add a little bit of weight on other side also just to see what happens. There is definitely enough pocket and depth to surf in at this time, and if we add a few ppl in the boat to the weighted side this wave will get pretty stupid!! Part of me wishes I would've ordered the custom sac, but with kids slalom gear, i need the extra storage space under the seats. We can always add ppl to boat if needed and besides they are cheaper than the custom sacs!
Yes we love this boat more and more every day we have it out. Who wouldn't love a decent sized all around boat that can put an excellent slalom wave out and in a few minutes throw a ridiculous large surf wave.
I have a video of surf wave and it shows a better representation of wave so will post sometime soon
