    Ballast Question.

    rightio here goes.
i have a 2006 20I and i have put two 80ltr sacks in the front compartments filled but a jabsco pump. it all works but when they are full it only drizzles out the vent holes and its hard to tell they are full. i was hoping it would spurt out. the sacs fill from the bottom and vent from the top. is there a way to get more pressure so the vents over flow more when they are full.
i was thinking maybe with some one way valves i could get it to fill to the top and empty from the bottom.
i hope someone can shine some light on this for me
    Cheers
    Anthony

ps i might add the pump has 1 inch pipe which goes into a y fitting and then into each sac. the pump also has a 1" pipe off the pump to a skin fitting in the bottom of the boat

Can you describe the vent line setup for each sac?

        Hi Chpthril,
The vent simply goes from the top of the sac to a skin fitting in the side of the boat that is higher than the top of the sac to iliminate it draining. The fitting is only 20mm though not the full inch.
        Thanks for your input too

Does each sac have its own vent line and thru-hull or are the sacs T'd together and share a thru-hull. How long does it take the 2 sacs to fill to the point you get water purging out of the vent thru-hull? Keep in mind that you are splitting the flow from a single pump to 2 sacs. This divides the flow rate and pressure. If there are know kinks or obstructions and no air leaks before the pump, then I would say all is normal.
