When I have time I will be switching the Port Side Vent and Starboard Side Vent so I dont lose water when the boat is tilted when the ballast bags are full. You can easily loose 15 gallons or more of water while surfing for 15 minutes, but since you can fill while you are surfing I usually just fill for a minute every 5 minutes or so. Water is about 8 lbs per gallon so that much weight does change the wave a little. Not a big issue, but better to do it right the first time.
