    2011 Z1 Ballast Ideas

Our family is getting into surfing and we have a 2011 Z1 with no factory ballast. I've found a Straight Line brand bag that seems to be the same size as the rear locker and another that looks like a good fit for under the port side bench seat. When I was measuring the rear compartment, I noticed a warning sticker that stated not to place more than 60 lbs in the locker, so putting a 600 lb bag in there seems questionable. I assume this is OK given the even weight distribution, etc. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Are sumo sacks as good as the Fat Sacs?

Dont sweat the sticker as the weight of the sac will be well distributed.

Ive not been overly impressed with the Sumo sacs, but they do offer a larger threaded port then the Fly High. But, Fly does offer a far better selection of fittings for plumbing in the sacs.

You will want some bow weight for the Z1.

Thanks for the help. We usually take a crowd, so I was going to have some folks sit in the front. For those days we don't, do the v-shaped bow bags fit under the seat well?

I have an 08 Z1 and put a 1200lb Enzo in the rear port locker, have a 400lb V drive sac that goes on the Port seat and a 500lb??? V sac in the Bow it probably only fills to 400-450lbs, all are fly high sacs and all were purchased through Chpthril @ Mikes Liquid Audio. I supply and disperse the crew

You will need bow weight and rear surf side weight. additional to any peep weight you have

Don't get the sumo sacs, they are not near the quality of the fly high sacs. You definitely get what you pay for. I picked up a pair for $50 a year or two ago and that is about all they are worth.
