Can get the port side wake clean with no to little white wash, but starboard side is horrible. This occurs when both surfing and wakeboarding. Tried several different combos with the ballast and TAPS but can't seem to get it right.

How to clean up starboard side wake??

Also, if water patrol is lenient in your area, have a person sit on the rear transom SB side.

When wakeboarding you just have to move people around to get both sides clean, and you probably need to speed up a little too. If you want to wakeboard slower than 22 your going to have to reduce ballast and use a lower TAPS setting to get a clean wake.
To clean up the starboard side for surfing your going to have to get people to move from the left (port) side to the starboard (right) side, otherwise you won't get a clean wave. You need to play around with speed and taps to get that wave dialed, how much weight are you running and where do you have it located, and how many people do you have on your boat?2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

Yesterday we had 3 adults and 4 teenagers. Had full front left ballast full (550) and half right full, full left locker (650) and everyone sitting on that side in the rear, good clean wake for surfing, then switched sides and empty the rear left and filled right rear, had everyone move to that side, bad white wash wake. Wakeboarding we had everyone spaced out in boat and ballast emptied and taps worked best at 1/2, left wake clean but right wake bad with white wash. Driving at 19 for wakeboarding (13 year old) and 11.4 for surfing. Problem being I can't get both sides to have a clean wake and it seems the farther I put the taps down the worse it gets, as far as Iam concerned the taps is worthless to me..

If your trying to wakeboard or surf, the larger wake from a higher taps setting is good up until a point. If you raise the taps setting too high, you'll get a washed out wave because the boat is not going fast enough for the wave to move back from the boat to the riders position before it collapses upon itself. In this case, there are only 2 ways to get a clean wave to the riders position, make the wave smaller or speed up the boat.
In your case, your frustration with the starboard side wake for surfing can be fixed by filling only the surf side of the boat with ballast, try starting with taps at 4 and 11.2. Keep the taps constant and play with speed, if you want a larger wake slow down a little, like to a 11 or 10.8. If it's too washed out or the pocket is too small, speed up to 11.4-11.8. When you find the perfect speed for a good wave with your weight configuration, then play with the taps a little and watch the subtle differences it does to the transition and face of the wave. It looks subtle but feels like a giant change on the wave.
For wakeboarding your probably just going too slow to get a clean wake on both sides, the RZ4 is a big boat and it's displacing alot of water. In order to get a clean wake at that speed your going to need to empty all the ballast and have taps on the lowest setting. That will get the cleanest wake at the slowest speed. As your rider gets more comfortable behind the boat, you can slowly add some speed and add some taps to make the wake a little bigger. Your also going to have to be very directive with where people sit for wake boarding. You want to add people to the side with the white wash. You might need to get your heaviest guy to sit in the middle of the rear bench and move him slightly back and forth to get the wake cleaned up.
Hope this helps. If you need any more advice try to post some pics and or video of your wake. These boats are ALOT easier to dial in a nice wake with the TAPS plate than other boats without the plate, but it's not an automatic thing. You have to constantly adjust the speed and taps setting as you burn fuel and lighten the load, as your crew of people change, sometimes you may have more or less people weight, and that will mess up your standard settings. Once you get close to good settings you'll remember them and adjust slightly from that to dial in the perfect wake each time out.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

And you might need to speed up a bit for wakeboarding. I find that I don't get a clean wake until about 22 mph. If a young rider is too scared to start out that fast, try going slower at first, but just gradually keep bumping up the speed a couple tenths at a time.
