Trying to keep up with Duffy's big a** ballast race I've added more weight to my 05 24V.
Sold my 1500 Enzo rear sacs for custom ones (forgot how big they are..think 2000..Duffy designed them)
Added 280 mid ship sacs..1 under the stereo console and 1 in the compartment in front of the driver
Total:
280 bow
280 mid
2000 rear
3 Oprah 155 bricks (2 on swimstep..1 in boat) 2 on the deck slide 'side to side' on the handrail as the boat leans
New plump girlfriend (40 lb. upgrade)
All of the Port side sacs are connected as are the Starboard side. ie when I fill all the sacs fill at the same time. If one fills before the other we can shut off the bow/rear with inline ball valves.
On our maiden voyage with the new big a** ballast we fried the impeller on the starboard side draining at the end of the day + cooked the port side switch doing the same (someone forgot to open the rear sac valve. LAME I know..The pump never ran dry but it got heated enough to somehow cook the dash switch..smoke and stuff..
1st things ever to go wrong with the boat in 2 years (probably 150 days on the water)..totally my fault
Where should these check valves go? I've got 4 vent lines ..2 for the front 4 sacs (T together) 2 for the rear going across the boat to vent
