2006 24ve ballast

I'm trying to figure out what size of fat sacks i can put in my 2006 24ve rear lockers without having to modify the rear lockers if anyone can help that would be great

Definitely listen to chp- he's the man. Along with others on here, he set me up with what I needed to maximize my wake for my needs/wants. Keep in mind your 24ve will take a good amount of weight to really kick out a stellar wakesurf wake and 400# may not do it. I have 1100lb sacs in each of the rear lockers and its great.

I have the same boat and have been researching as well. I am looking to get a surf wave. Can you fit more than 1100lbs in each locker?

it will take an Enzo style "L" shaped sac to get more then 900 in the locker proper, thus extending up under the side seating.

Just surfing or just wake-boarding is simple, but doing a setup that does both well, is always a compromise of some degree. Just keep in mind that how ever much weight you add to the back for boarding, you will need to add that in the front, if not more. The Ve's seem to produce the best wake with a 60/40 front/rear weight distribution. This is where it gets tough to select a good surf sac and then not overfilling it when boarding.

The Fly High W712 Enzo is a good fit and a great surf sac, but too much for boarding. It will net you about 1300 for surfing. The W719 Jumbo will give you about 900 for surfing and is easier to partially fill for boarding. A w713 400# sac, or the W701 when purchased as a pair, is a great fit for boarding, but real light for surfing unless you have a huge crew. There are a couple semi-custom MC sacs that fit the rear locker size of the Ve, but the $ per LB goes down. We have a custom cube shape sac just for the Ve locker that fill to just shy of 600 lbs.

Mike fixed my 06 24v up with a 1450# L shaped sac in the rear and a 600# V sac for the front. Mine will produce a great surf wake.

With that price range, you will get more if you put it towards a surf sac. A pump kit is $100, so that leaves $300, right? To weight the Ve for boarding, you need at least as much weight up front as the back. The W711 integrated bow sac is $270, so nothing left for rear sacs, which the best bang would be the W701 400# v-drive sac set. This runs $230. This would be all stowed away ballast.

You could go a little cheaper and have sacs in the floor, but this tends to get old. You could do a pair of W707 750# sacs, one in walkway one in floor along the bench seat, for $300, leaving some for the pump kit. For surfing, fill one 750 in the locker for about 600+ lbs and then place the other in the seat along the side.

For just surfing, the best value is a W719 jumbo surf sac and b pump kit. Inside of $300 for that setup.

I have a 2006 24ve and we run the two 750 pound sacs in the lockers, and since we mostly ride regular I put a 400 pound sac under the long seat on the port side and piggybacked it to the rear sac on that side. The surf wake on this boat is incredible with that weight. Don't go any less than 750's in the rear! You will need weight up front for wakeboarding as well, we have 2 sacs under the bow seat that probably fill to about 250 pounds each.
